Good quality paint worth the money
The quality and colour of this paint is fantastic. I’ve had several people asked me if I had purchased a new door. It looks amazing. This paint is not smelly. Dries quickly. I have to write a new review in 10 years time to to let you know if it had last that long. The size is big enough, I did four coats of the paint on the door as I didn’t shake the tin good enough. I used to brush on the door rather than a roller it gave it a better finish.

Stir the paint!
Paints on well. However make sure you follow instructions on the tin & stir the paint really well before you use it. The huge colour difference if not stirred is vast, I bought grey but it went on and dried black because I didn't stir the paint enough. Dries quickly and coverage is very good even on old paint. I've attached a photo of first coat and then 2nd to illustrate.

3 coat solution
The first one or two coats did appear inconsistent in colour, but all was fine by the 3rd coat. Once finished it looks good, and water seems to just run off without penetrating the wood at all. The paint covered over a few small cracks nicely too.Quick to dry, and easy to clean brushes afterwards.

Does what is says? Of course it does.
As per ‘ you can’t go wrong with a Ronseal’ great paint goes on beautifully, remember prep is key and a half decent brush your not picking bristles back out you’ll be on a roll (again a decent sort) with this easy on paint. Good value, a nice consistency and you know you are getting a decent paint with this brand.

Good coverage
Very good coverage.....make sure you sand down previous painted surface.....time will tell if weather proof. Nice colour of grey more like a blue grey but I like the colour.

This turned out black for us. Paint seems OK.Second coat was grey, but after lots of stirring.

Colour change
Well that was not what I was expecting. I’ve bought this grey satin paint quite a few times before, a couple of times from Amazon, and it’s a typically good Ronseal product. So what have they done to the colour! Fortunately I was only finishing off some garden furniture. I’d painted the top of the outdoor table, run out of paint and wanting to take advantage of the continuing good weather ordered a tin online with Prime and it was delivered promptly as usual. On opening the tin after delivery this morning it looked darker than usual but as I was only painting the legs under the garden table I thought a slight variation in colour would not be a catastrophe and it would probably dry a bit lighter. Nope! Because now I have got a completely two tone table. Yes both paints are grey but the original is a nice light/mid grey (table top) and the new version is bordering on anthracite (table legs) see photos. The product codes for these tins seem to be the same. The tins are identical – see photo, (old version on left) so what’s going on.And unfortunately for me other parts of my garden (sheds etc) and inside the house (window ledges etc) have been painted with the first version and I am now unable to touch up chips/scratches as I have done in the past.I’ve opened the tin so I can’t return it but what would I be ordering in its place anyway? I’m not a happy chappie but I don’t suppose there’s anything I can do about it. Maybe Amazon could approach Ronseal for their thoughts? This review is really just a warning for anyone who has purchased this product previously and like myself would be expecting the light grey version. And if you’re buying for the first time- and it is good paint,- you won’t have a problem as you will not have to match it with the original shade of grey.
