Works great, but case is fragile and I fixed it with tape
Have had this now for a couple of years, and it works great. I like the short connecting cable, and I particularly like the on/off switches so I can switch mice. I use this hub to connect 2 mice and a headset, and the occasional USB stick withoug any problems. However, the case came apart maybe after a year. I ended up fixing it with duct tape, and it's been functioning without a problem since. Considering the cheap price, I am not complaining.I would say 5 stars for functionality, 1 star for sturdiness.

Incredibly worth buying!
Not to long ago I built a new gaming computer, It's great and though It was expensive to make, It was totally worth It. My only "issue" would be that the motherboard, while very good, has very tight USB ports, and with all of my peripherals, such as the mouse, keyboard, headset/speaker, etc. I ran out of USB 3.0 ports pretty quick and all I had left were two or three USB 2.0 ports which were useless.I honestly wasn't even sure If they made splitters or powerstrips for USB cables. I only looked because I have a few power strips and splitters for other electronic devices, and I'm very happy I did. This functions exactly like a good power strip. You plug the splitter in and then you have four more USB 3.0 ports, a unique feature that I like about this Is you can choose to turn off certain ports with a small switch beneath the respective port.I would suggest this item to anyone who has a computer or honestly any USB 3.0 dependent device. I intend on buying another one or two relatively soon for both my current and old computer. I also bought a USB 2.0 splitter, I have that attached to my old computer. I'll link the 2.0 splitter for anyone who may be interested or in need of one.USB 2.0 splitterhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BWF5U0M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Handy way to add USB ports
I have a USB powered speaker and cool pad in use by my laptop, plus the port need to charge the laptop, so really needed an extender. This one seemed to be a good choice and has proved even better than my expectations. I have had no problems with transferring files with flash drives while all the other ports are in use, or with charging a phone. I have even charged a phone with the laptop battery when the power was off during a hurricane. The fact that the ports can be turned off and on independently is a nice touch.

Works as advertised
I have a Sabrent multi-port USB adapter, and it cuts off frequently.I tried using it as a multi-hub of sorts for local PC multiplayer games to free up the front ports on my gaming rig, but if you move it in any way the Sabrent ports disconnect and reconnect, sometimes on a loop, causing the games to crash or freeze in the process as the devices are connected and reconnected over and over again. It's a pain.I decided to go with the Atolla, because the negative reviews only mentioned that occasionally that the transfer speeds weren't up to par, but since I had no plans on using it for hooking up hard drives or data banks, that wasn't something that concerned me much.I'm currently using it as a wireless device hub for some wireless controllers that I have, and it seems to work just about perfect. I haven't had any issues with the device cutting out or cutting off or constantly reconnecting like the Sabrent.I like the look and the ability to turn on and turn off devices with a very simple flick of a switch. This is a great multi-port USB hub and well worth the price of entry.

Worked well in a stationary position. Overall, it's a nicely made piece.
The USB jacks allow any wiggling of the inserted plug to suffer a continuity loss. I experienced this using a small USB LED keyboard light. Even a thorough cleaning with DeoxIT D5 didn't improve the problem.
