BTT says you dont need it, by better safe than sorry
Ill be honest, I didn't do any actual thermal testing with a temp gun. But when I saw this heat sink I just had to get it. The thermal sticker is perfectly cut, the heat sink itself is so sharp looking, and it comes with the mounting screws. This was a very wise purchase especially since I'm planning to move my printers to the garage to save space so heat will be more an issue out there.For me shipping was slow, but accurate. It had to ship from mainland china when I ordered in late 2024, but hopefully by now they have these here in the US of A for faster delivery. If you installed the board, this is an easy install, and honestly it actually holds the compute module more securely than it would otherwise be held in by the snap connectors alone.
