Reviewing it late but do read it.
I am reviewing it after 5 months ..I pre ordered it in dec -5- 2024.. and I got this absolutely perfect without any imperfections.neat and clean book. The fan art is to die for.🫶🏻and the sprayed edge is actually similar to iron flame so little disappointed with that . It could have been different. But apart from that I am in love. I am on chapter 16 currently. Let's see how it goes.❤️

Rebecca could have given us the finale instead of dragging things out. This was pointless tbh.
And the disappointment continues… While it felt like a lot was happening, nothing substantial actually did. By the end of the story, we’re back to square one. Honestly, you could just read the last 20% - you wouldn’t miss much. This is hands down the worst book in the series. Fourth Wing remains the only truly amazing read - the rest don’t even come close.Violet… she’s still frustratingly oblivious. For someone supposedly brilliant, she’s alarmingly clueless at times. There were countless moments where she should have questioned, realized or fought to uncover the truth - but no, she remains infuriatingly dense, taking far too long to piece things together. What’s even more aggravating is how the story insists on making her the sole problem-solver, as if the other intelligent and capable characters don’t exist. It’s exasperating & makes her even harder to tolerate. As for Xaden, while I was thrilled to see more of him, this wasn’t the version of “more” I hoped for. It’s like his character was reduced to serve some plot convenience rather than adding the depth we know he’s capable of. Thank God for his snarks, his attitude & his complete obsession with Violet. However, I struggled to see any genuine emotional connection between them. Every time they meet, it’s the same recycled declarations: “I love you, I’d burn the world for you, you are my everything.” But where’s the actual bond? The attachment? Their relationship lacks depth - it just comes across as another form of manipulation. As for the plot - while there are some reveals, they feel so downplayed - almost as if the author didn’t want us to dwell on them - buried under an avalanche of so many insignificant things happening. At the end of the day, I’m left questioning why this book even exists. And to think, there are still two more books before the series concludes? Rebecca could have given us the finale instead of dragging things out with what feels like filler. This was pointless tbh.

Eh
The quality was a bit off. But boy was the plot good!!! Rebecca yarros did a really good job but the first book's writing is still unmatched.P.S. Rebecca doesn't have to give us heart wrenching cliff hangers at the end of every book to make us stay because we'd be there anyways but the lowering of emotional hurt will be appreciated.
