I purchased this antenna for tv without cable as a gift for my elderly parents, and they absolutely love it. The setup was incredibly easy, and they didn’t have to ask for any help. They can now watch the local news and their favorite old shows without any interruptions. The kids also love it for cartoons and educational content, and they were amazed at how clear the picture quality is. It has been a perfect addition to our home, offering something for both the young and old. We no longer need to pay for cable, and everyone is happy with the result.

We have cable TV along with our Internet service, but there is one particular local digital channel that my wife loves that is not included with the cable channels. It is called TOON, and locally is on 25-3. The digital antenna that I tried to use was leftover from another project. It didn't provide a solid reception picture for that channel, so I started looking at more modern, more capable antennas and came across the Oyned AN-3040. It had great reviews on Amazon, and didn't cost a fortune, so I decided to give it a try. It was in stock at the local warehouse (having sold over 3000 units in the last month probably helped with that) and we received it the next morning. It came well packed in a solid, small cardboard box. The antenna appears solidly built, and is weather-sealed for indoor or outdoor use. Setting it up is trivial, as it has multiple mounting options, and the amplifier is easily attached and powered from a USB port on the large screen (65" Sony) flat panel TV. Standard coax for signal connection. Upon doing the channel scan, I discovered that it picked up several additional channels than the leftover one I had tried. After scanning, of course we went right to the TOON channel. The picture was bright and clear, and we waited with some concern that we would see pixellation. There was none, the picture was fantastic and has stayed that way, even through a fairly intense thunderstorm. I am very pleased with this unit, and if it continues to perform this well I would definitely recommend it. I live west of South Bend, Indiana, so we're not too far away from the local towers, but this antenna is pulling in some Chicago channels as well, which is pretty cool. I am thus far hard-pressed to find any faults with this unit. If I had to voice a concern, it would be that the antenna end of the coax cable is built-in on the unit. I understand why, it is to allow the unit to be sealed against the weather in the outdoors mode (we are using it indoors in a nearby window, there is a generous 35 feet of coax included and a barrel coupler in case you need to attach more). I do like to use shielded RG-6 cable for all of my coax, but the included cable seems to be performing just fine. Absolutely great picture quality, clarity, and brightness without any rebalancing for the signal. Based on the free standing performance, and the vast improvement over the previous antenna, I do recommend this unit highly for home use. We are happily watching the TOON channel and about 42 others. Full five stars with no reservation other than the integral cable on the antenna end.

I bought this antenna because my old one had to be moved every time I changed the channel, and that was really annoying. With this new antenna, I don’t have to move it at all. I set it in one spot and left it there, and all the channels come in clear.I connected it to both my old TV and a newer one, and it works great on both. It comes with a long cable, so I was able to place it near the window, which helped the picture look even better.Some channels look amazing, like I have cable TV, but without paying for it.It’s simple, works very well, and is a great way to save money. I’m very happy with this antenna!

Works well enjoying the great reception

I have not yet tried to use the antenna, but the T.V signal amplifier that comes with it is amazing, the local T.V signals here are kind of weak and my regular indoor antenna has to be placed just right inside the room, but even in the best possible place inside the room, some of the channels signals are too weak, but after I connected the amplifier that comes with the antenna to my regular antenna, now all T.V channels signals are strong enough, even the weakest channels are now strong enough, I will anyhow try the new antenna later maybe in a few days for right now all that I need is just the amplifier and the old regular digital antenna, it is a regular flat digital antenna.Well, I tried the antenna and I found it to be inferior to my old flat digital antenna, very inferior, it can't pull in local TV stations, the old flat digital TV antenna works much better, the only good thing about the antenna is not the antenna itself but the TV signal amplifier that comes with it, but even with the amplifier this new TV can't pull in local TV stations, the old flat TV antenna that I have together with the signal amplifier work great!Regardless of where I put the new TV antenna, it won't pull in local TV stations even when connected to the signal amplifier.
