Very Impressed !
I’m really impressed with this machine. My last sharpener was a Drill Doctor 500X. It was ok but mostly plastic, and not very precise. The only plastic part on the new machine is the mains switch. It seems very well made with good, precise parts where needed. I ordered the blue and white version that said it covered 3mm up to 15mm bits. TBH I didn’t think you could get ER20 collets over 13mm but this came with 14mm and 15mm. Getting the correct lip relief angle can be a bit tricky but no more so than the Drill Doctor. You need a basic understanding of drill geometry and a willingness to experiment. I find the jig to set the drill position is ok for larger bits (+8mm). Below that you need to check carefully and align by eye - and be prepared to tweak a bit anti-clockwise from the “parallel” position shown in the instructions. The instructions are the most disappointing thing. I found them ok as I knew what angles and clearance I wanted and could guess at what they were trying to say. Complete beginners may struggle with them but probably wouldn’t be buying a machine like this one.Expensive but worth it. Very happy with my purchase.

it does what it's supposed to do very well.
Just brilliant for sharpening your drill bits, took me a couple of tries before I got used to the working it procedures correctly, but then got the hang of it and once you've achieved that it works very accurately

Produced a good sharp burr free edge
I looked at the current market for drill bit sharpeners when reviewing this to get an idea of what’s available. It’s in a different league to the usual draper/sealey sharpeners and more of an industrial sharpener than a hobbyist set. With this in mind it’s easy to forgive the abysmal instructions that come with this as it gives almost no usable information at all. In fairness it’s pretty straightforward once you get going and as another review mentions a quick YouTube search yields plenty of guidance.Compared to what else is on the market the price is about right and overall build quality is ok although it would be nice to see a catch on the storage compartment. The collets and chucks come soaked in oil to prevent rust just like all good machine shop equipment should. It’s very quiet in operation the only info missing that would be nice is the knob on the top rear of the unit for centring position (I believe as it’s not mentioned in the instructions) you get two chucks to cover a larger range of shank sizes.Tolerances are tight and its useful to know that when sharpening the chuck needs inserting with a slight upward tiltIf it sticks at the current 499 prince it puts it about right with slight advantage having the two chucks and bigger range of drill sizes.

Excellent quality, end results fantastic...
Without doubt one of the best bit grinders/sharpeners I've seen, and certainly THE best I've personally owned or used.Like a lot of other folk out there, I've used all sorts of sharpeners over the years, from the very basic to the DIY bench types costing around £50/£60. The one here is considerably more of course, but the end results are like chalk and cheese. It's not the most expensive tool of this type by any means, but definitely in the 'can I justify it' bracket. Before even plugging in and switching on, I did a lot of reading/research first. There are a number of videos giving some great tips on using these machines, and it's well worth looking at those before diving in. Apart from anything else, you'll learn precisely what each step is actually doing. I've learnt more about the precise geometry of bits (and all their subtle differences) in the last few days than I've ever known before. This will be second nature/old-hat to many of course, but vital to anyone doing this 'properly' for the first time.Using the machine (with the basics learned above) is a doddle, and you'll be sailing through your bits in no time at all. It's a joy to use, feels VERY solid and robust, with the end result of perfectly ground/sharp bits being the reward. Not only will it easily do your 'standard' 118-degree wood bits, but also your 135-degree split-point bits as well. If you have other bits with specific angle requirements (or want to create your own), that's possible too.The price is the major factor here, and whether it's worth the outlay. I have to say that since folk have gotten wind that I have one here, there's a good possibility of getting a 'sharpening service' off the ground!. There's no doubt friends and family will benefit from using it occasionally. This is one of those tools I would probably look at on the screen, and 'wish' I had one without actually committing to buying it. Having now tried it 'in-the-flesh' so to speak, there's no doubt I wouldn't be happy until one was sitting on my workbench.Great stuff, and on a quality/value-for-money basis.... 5-Stars.
