Good book, but the absolute basics. So good if you know 0 Portuguese and are starting fresh on the language! If you know a little bit, this won’t help at all.

Learning Portuguese and have tried a few different apps like Duolingo and Pimsleur. This book is a better gateway to understanding sentence structure.Highly recommend

I really appreciate the way this book gives the conjugations of verbs. I was hoping that it would cover the alphabet and the pronunciation of the words. This would be very helpful in reading the words according to the actual Portuguese pronunciation. Otherwise, it is very helpful for grammar purposes.

Still in book 1, it’s helped a lot but the audio on the web site is very fast, wish it went a bit slower. Also I think the courses or classes should be included when you buy the books, not an extra fee.

This book is amazing for beginners/people who already know a few basics in Portuguese! Every chapter is a different story. Each chapter begins with objectives, then a quick over view of the verbs that will be used in the story, then it gives you a guide on how to conjugate those verbs, then gives you the story to read. The story is about 6-8 sentences long, and then it gives you a list of vocabulary used in the story that may be new to you. After that, there are a few practice sections and and answer key at the end of the chapter for you to check your work. This book is amazing and a great learning tool for beginning portuguese. I recommend to to one chapter every day and write notes in a seperate notebook of things you want to learn from that lesson. You can’t go wrong with this one!

The book will help you READ the language and understand phrases, but from the book you'll never learn how to pronounce any word and therefore not to able to understand when someone is talking to you in that language. I bought it thinking that I'll be able to learn to speak it but sadly it will not do the trick for me or anyone else. I'll

This is an excellent first true beginner exercise language book. You also have access to free audio pronunciation guide. The first book does not have the QR Code listed. It is listed in the second and third books which I have. But there is audio for all of the verbs, vocabularies, stories and useful phrases for the first book.
