Great Product - Quick Framing Set Up!
I am remodeling our basement, adding 2 rooms, and extending a third. I had to frame 5 walls of varying lengths. I purchased this product to set my 16" centers on the walls, and it worked flawlessly! This product makes it so easy to set the walls, and cuts the time down dramatically. It was well worth the purchase! I'm going to building a shop on the back of the property later this year, and it will be a tool in my box again for sure. Great product, thanks!

This was an extremely helpful tool
This was an extremely helpful tool which made the job go faster. I liked the flexibility on sides to put in and you don’t need as many people to get the job done.

Well built, sturdy, handy tool to have around
This is a pretty heavy duty framing tool. It's definitely solid and well built, and should withstand some tossing around and still be accurate. The measurements are pretty spot on for 12/14/16-inch OC. I'm always looking for things that can make the job just a little bit easier, and this one is a great example. By no means am I a construction professional of any sort, just a homeowner/DIY'er but it's just that extra little ease of measurement that you'll appreciate having something like this in your toolbox.

Spaces perfectly, and "rings" nicely when bumped!
First of all... this item makes a nice long-lasting "ring" if you tap/hit it on the end while holding the handle. Irrelevant to performance, but it brought a smile! We've had need of these things for a few projects, and I've got another one a while back that's seen heavy use. Having another on hand means two jobs at once, or a top/bottom at the same time. The positions are spaced as advertised and one can get 12, 14, or 16-in-on-center spacing with this. Great perk. The positions are STRAIGHT and one can trust that the boards are positioned as they should be (at least on the side slotted in--this won't untwist or unbow a board!).The only feedback I have is that there's no built-in securing mechanism. The other device like this (16-in only) that we got a while back, has thumb-screws that allow one to put everything in place and then let go and move about. This item does not have any included way to secure it in place. Using clamps works, but it's extra devices. So minus 1 for that oversight.Else, I'd recommend having this one and perhaps one with attaching mechanisms in the tool-chest, making framing studs a speedier proposition.

I wanted to like this
I'm not in love with this as a tool, I thought I was going to like it much more, but the slots are too loose, and I would rather have accuracy. In a quick mock-up, I ended up with more than 16" on center, like 16-1/16". If you lay out a basement wall using this, by the time you get to the end, you've gained over an 1" and that will not allow for sheetrock to land where you need it and be centered.I am going to try to wrap the ends with some tape on one side to force the 2x4s to the edge, and do the same for the other end to see if I can get this to be exactly 16" on center. For smaller projects, this would be just fine, but for a 40' wall in a basement, I have to resort to using a square and marking out exactly.

Good For Small Projects But May Be A Problem For Long Runs
The 3 In 1 Framing Tool does a good job for the novice or small jobs. The tool is a cast metal and seems very durable. The slots for the 2”x4” are a little loose (see pic of gap) and each opening is almost 1-5/8” which means if you are doing a long run your spacing could potentially be off by the time you’re finished. Overall, a good tool for short runs.
