Beautiful. Perfection.
Had some extra cash so I bought this and thr Tahoma field knife. When they both arrived at the same time....wow, knife party!! The Wild Pig Hunter is a killer. Completely made to stab and kill large mammals. Not elephants or anything that big. But maybe, with some good placement strikes to organs, you may be able to take down an elephant. Haha. Definitely a bison will go down with a good organ strike. A grizzly bear, a well placed organ piercing would kill it, bit it will definitely kill you first. They have claws, teeth, and weight advantage. Is a very nice looking knife. Edge grind is even. Handle is very comfortable for my medium hands. Easily more room on the handle for another finger plus. It looks more like a military fighting knife. Which is also made to kill large mammals, like humans. The sheath is all leather. Very good quality triple stiching. My sheath is a dark brown. Extremely happy with The Wild Pig Hunter. If the revolution ever happens, or Zombie apocalypse, then I am set with my head stabber. You gotta kill the head!!! Watch "The Dead Dont Die" Long live Bill Murry. This knife is not in the movie. Just a reference to "kill the head" that's all.

Beautiful
Ive been shopping for a SHTF fixed blade. One I thought could serve multiple purposes. Not ridiculously expensive. Under $200.00. I looked at all types. The look of this one caught my eye. I had been looking hard at Tops based on peoples comments. I only buy American if possible. I have Kershaw folders. I liked the blade on The Wild Pig Hunter. Although I doubt I will be hunting any pigs with it. I received it today and it arrived as advertised. Well made. Fit and Finnish top notch. Sharp as hell. Beautiful knife. I also ordered from Amazon despite finding the knife cheaper elsewhere. It just freaks me out to send my credit card info out to unknown vendors. I searched the knife online, finding out its based on a Russian designed fighting knife. Some people are upset about that. I don't really care. I know nothing about Russian steel. Its not an exact replica but the blade itself is very similar. No similarity in grip. The knife looks classic. Like a Roman sword or a Viking knife. It looks strong, durable, and quite deadly. Its a pretty straight forward piercing point. Not double edged. Tool steel 1/4" thick. Nice coating on blade. Tops has a quality reputation for heat treating. Not made for battoning but if I had to press it into service Im sure it would be ok. It is essentially a fighting knife. It will slice and dice and pierce medium sized mammals while also serving as a tool. The sheath is nicely made. One tip from another comment which turned out to be true is the need to watch how you sheath the knife. If you just shove it in you will cut the retaining strap to ribbons. You need to sort of start it sideways holding the strap under the blade as you push the knife into the sheath. No big deal once you know.I would definitely recommend to others interested in this style of knife. Ill write more after I use it some.

OZARK TOOTHPICK
If you are going after wild pigs of any variety every piece of equipment better be uncompromising; because your quarry certainly is, and so is this 'Ozark Toothpick' from TOPS. This foot long piece of American 1095 high carbon steel is designed for piercing & puncturing porkers; and although the blade should be a couple of inches longer, at 7.5 inches and a quarter inch thick this will do the trick. A custom design feature is the .103 thick undercut spine, reducing the weight to just under a pound. The razor sharp blade has a no-glare, no reflection matte black riverwash finish with an after coat for durability. The handle is Micarta canvas scales with the rocky Mtn. tread which ensures a secure grip even in the wettest, bloodiest situations. Handle comes with paracord lanyard for a secure wrist-wrap. I suppose it is long enough to tie the knife to a spear shaft, or you carry a spear separately, such as the United Cutlery M48 Kommando:Lance de Survie - M48 Kommando - UC2961The sheath is double stitched vegetable tanned steer hide leather and comes with a paracord leg-tie which is pretty much a field requirement for a blade this large. The quality of this knife is evident from the moment you first hold it in your hand. It has a nice balance point at the hilt as it should which makes controlling the cutting edge easier. I like this pig sticker a lot, cause it's sure to bring home the bacon.

Great knife! outstanding!
Wow! I own a bunch of tops knives and they are finally using their heads...my Pig Hunter came with a nice leather sheath... And some other knives are now coming with Kydex sheaths. TOPS, please abandon those other cheesy ballistic nylon ones with the extra big plastic inserts, those sheaths suck!! I was taught a long time ago by a knife collector, "the quality sheath tells you a lot about the quality of the knife". that old guy was right. I used to collect Randall's, now they are all sold off, they made good knives but what made their knives good was the Sullivan's sheaths they sent with them! I bought extra sheaths when i could and got as much for the sheaths as I did for some of the knives! This Pig Hunter knife is not just a Pig knife Its my new carry knife! very robust, sharp and of good quality for under 150.00? you cant get a big heavy duty knife, unless you pay for a custom knife for more. made in the USA! are you kidding me? outstanding knife! So, TOPS, If you read this also get rid if that black wrinkle paint you use on some/most of your knives and adopt this sand wash coating, secondly provide good sheaths like this leather one. get rid of those cheesy black crap sheaths. its worth a few bucks more to us knife guys for leather or kydex
