Easy, reliable, flexible, affordable and colorful.
EasySMX X05: Excellent and a decent price (under $25 each time I've bought it).I missed the disclaimer that it doesn't work with Xbox or Fire TV so I bought it to use with Fire TV 4K Max. It paired flawlessly under Bluetooth (switch position 2). I put the dongle into my PC and can switch it between systems by selecting that (switch position 3). The Xbox app on Fire TV wouldn't recognize it but supports Switch controllers so I put the controller into Switch mode (switch position 1) and it works perfectly.I've bought 3 more of these and am very happy with the performance and battery life. I also use them with a MiSTerFPGA (Bluetooth, position 2) with no issues pairing or playing with multiple controllers. As an added bonus, the colors are cool and even if you end up with a couple of the same color controllers, you can set their glows to be different to easily differentiate between them (e.g., if you set them down then want to continue with the one you were using).

Best controller I've purchased.
If you understand the benefits of hall effect joysticks and triggers, you'll know that some of the most expensive controllers on the market, some even in the $150+ range, don't even have them. Not acceptable for that price range. I'm tired of replacing old controllers, repairing them to get another short usage span out of them, or just outright having to trash them. I only buy hall effect now.Now I could say any hall effect controller is good, and having used nothing but them for the past couple years, I'd be mostly correct, but this controller feels solid and plays even better. I can't get over the $17 price tag either. The controller was instantly recognized by Windows. No extra setup. Just plug in the dongle and hit the center button on the controller and it will sync right up. The RGB is easy to play with. You just double tap the "M" button and use the left joystick to play with your options, one of which includes no lights at all. When you're decided, just tap "M" again and your set. It comes with two thumb grips and a USB C charging cable as well. All in all, it was a pretty seamless process. I was in game within seconds of powering it on.Triggers and all buttons are very responsive. D Pad is sufficient no matter what games you play, including fighting games(not the greatest, but will suffice. You should be using a fight stick anyway!). Joysticks feel great and again, the ease of mind knowing they'll last is what is most exciting here.EasySMX have done a good job here. I'll likely be picking up a second or even a third to keep in their boxes until my friends finally wear out my older, potentiometer joystick controllers ha!

Look elsewhere.
Maybe I just got a lemon but I've had issues with this controller from the moment I first set it up. Firstly, wireless connection never worked properly. I tried all the different trouble shooting methods and could not get it to stay connected for more than a few minutes. A bit of a pain but whatever, I just used it wired. The main reason I'm only giving this product 1 star is because after only a few months of VERY light gaming, I'm a 40 year old father of 2 so I'm lucky to get to game for more than 3-5 hours a week, after using this product for this short amount of time the right trigger button broke. I was playing GTAV and something snapped inside and the right trigger went all the way into the body of the controller and wont spring back up. Very disappointed as this controller has good reviews. Like I said, maybe I got a lemon but I can only review the product I received. Hence the 1 star.

Great but with caveats
Bought this controller on sale due to increasing problems with an older Xbox One controller for PC I had. There are only a few games I play with a controller, so I didn’t want to spend too much.Right out of the box, this feels better in the hands than the Xbox controller ever did. The Hall effect thumbsticks and triggers are especially of note, as they do feel very smooth and accurate. The other buttons are not as impressive, but they still feel relatively light and clicky.Connectivity is a mixed bag. This works great using Bluetooth, wired, or connected to the Nintendo switch. It’s basically non-functional when connected via 2.4ghz USB dongle. The sticks will pick up, but none of the buttons will. This isn’t an issue for my situation but is still disappointing, and it might be a dealbreaker for your setup. Note that you will have increased input latency using Bluetooth vs. wired or USB dongle. Also, while this works fine for Switch, note that the A and B buttons and the X and Y buttons are swapped. Not a fault on EasyXMS’s part - this is a Nintendo button pattern going back to the Super NES. The buttons will still work where they would on a Switch controller (pressing B will register A in-game, etc.).I haven’t really tested battery life, as I keep it plugged up to the PC most of the time unless I’m playing something or connecting to Switch, so I can’t comment on that.I also hear a lot of complaints that buttons will just stop working over time. I have no comment as these are mostly my first impressions over several days of use. Everything feels solid at the moment; time will tell.Overall, the controller looks and feels great in the hands; much better than the price would suggest. Docking a star for the connectivity issues. Again, I can’t stress this enough - the 2.4 wireless connection is basically unusable. If you rely on this, steer clear. Otherwise, if you need a cheap Switch controller and don’t mind the swapped button letters, or you’re okay with a wired/bluetooth connection, this feels like a really solid budget option.
