Love the easy of installation, and using fingerprint for access.
Looking for something to “dress” up our entry door as well as something we could provide and control access and this Heantie access lock was the perfect all around fit. It easily fit into the existing lockset and deadbolt from the previous lock and we only had to drill one hole for the outside handle (at the bottom). Setup with the app and the gateway was straight forward and love the fact that I can tell Google to lock or unlock the front door. Love the auto lock feature and that you can change the length of time for the auto lock to occur. We also love the fact that each one of our family members can have their own thumbprint or fingerprint for access and that we can put temporary codes in place for anyone that needs to get in the house like an exterminator.We did have one issue, but was easily resolved. The lock wouldn’t go all the way into the deadbolt without the key. Figured it out. I had accidentally moved the locking mechanism with the key before I inserted the lock in.I had called support and left a voicemail and within four hours they were texting me back with support. However, I had already figured it out rereading the instructions and correcting my mistake.Also pay attention that you’d have to indicate in the app which way your lock motor turns I didn’t do it, but a lot of people and other post had said that their lock wasn’t working and then realize that the motor was going the wrong way. The motor direction is controlled by the app.This is the best value for my money, and kind of makes me wish I had more than one front door or door that I could use it on because I would certainly buy another one.

Recognizes fingerprints but doesn't unlock
Unfortunately missed the return on this item by 2 days, so guess we're stuck with it. First few days it worked fine, then it started "sticking" when using the fingerprint reader. You could tell it recognized the fingerprints, and could hear the mechanism trying to unlock, but it just wouldn't unlock. You could wiggle the lock some, and keep trying, and it would finally start working.Fooled around with it some - took lock off, back on, made sure strike plate was correct, etc. Used it a while but typically someone is always home, so don't use it a lot during day (not a lot of opportunities to use fingerprint reader. My son is one that would typically use, but he got one of the keys, so he just used it. Was hoping after using several times, it would start to work... but nope. Still does the same, and I procrastinated and didn't send back. Got on this morning to return and realized we had had it longer than I thought. Missed return by a couple of days.So guess we're stuck with it. Fortunately we can use the keys, but it is no more than that... just a lock with a key! Based on our experience, we would suggest you look at a different lock for your door!UPDATE**UPDATEOnce I saw that the return window had passed, I didn't attempt to speak with the company to get my issue resolved. That was a mistake. The product manager for Heantle contacted me to make things right!They were extremely apologetic about our issues, and are working to resolve our problems. Rarely do many companies seem to care about one person, but Heantle is that exception. There is always a chance of getting a defective product with any company; but it's unusual for a company to make sure their customers are happy.I changed my rating based on their customer service. I am certain they are looking into any product issues, and they future customers will be extremely satisfied with both product and service!

Installation
Took alil but of time but finally got the handle on, patience is the key.Next day tackled the key less entry, then trying to understand how to lock the device from your phone or just your finger print wasn’t working 😩! Called the 888 number left a message for a return phone call At about 8 pm received a text from Eliane nicely patiently walked me through the steps to get the job lock up and running . If it wasn’t for Eliane helping me I would have definitely returned the item back no problem. Amazing customer service they helped make the installation process so easy. They walked me through the steps to make sure that everything was working properly. I did have an issue the next day with adding more finger prints but within minutes I received a text from Eliane stating she would be happy to help me again. Now that’s GREAT service and it’s speaking to a real person not a robot. Love them ❤️❤️❤️❤️Update OCT 11,2024- JUNK ! Remove it finger wasn’t reading ANY finger prints! Got tired if hearing the beeps early hours of the mornings when my husband would try to lock the darn door ! Removed it and ready to toss out to the garbage!!!!DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY !!!!

Easy Peasy-Good Quality
This was super simple to install and set up on a US Residential Home. All holes from previous lockset lined up. Just had to drill one 3/8" for the exterior bottom holder. The lock construction is comparable to my original locket from the home builder. Good quality and works flawlessly. I recommend it and I'm not easy to please. It does require 4 AA batteries and I recommend 4 brand new duracell Alkaline, not rechargeable. The Smart Life app setup was a breeze as I already have it on my Android managing all my other smart home lights and switches. Instructions were clear and I went thru them without scratching my head once. Setup PIN and fingerpring recognition with wife and I in just a few seconds. Proves to me that the Nay sayers are not all that savvy as they may think. I'll edit this review if I find this smart lock chewing through batteries (11/9/2024). That's the only thing that could make me lower my rating or if it just breaks in half which I doubt.
