Brilliant & very useful.
This magnifier is brilliant. It's exactly what I've needed for years. Having a self supporting stand lets you have both hands free under the glass part to look at very little whatever. No more trying to blue tack the handle of my other mag glass to something so I can have both hands free. The size is perfect for most uses in the home. You need to put 3 AAA batteries in it. None were included in the box. The price was reasonable & was on offer when I purchased the white one. I would recommend this item.

Not bad but not perfect
The downsides...Be sure you know what 10x magnification means. It is 10x by area so don't expect something 1mm in size to appear to be 1cm through this - it would appear at best just over 3mm (square root 10x) and at the distance on the inbuilt stand is barely double - see picture. Holding further away will give a higher magnification but at the expense of distortion. The small 30x glass in the handle appears to me to be next to useless. It is a little large to hold comfortably and all too easy to accidentally press the light button which cycles through the range of brightness/light temperature options. The good points...The inbuilt stand will probably be useful. The LEDs are bright and diffuse so no annoying reflections were obvious. At the stand distance there is minimal distortion. The lens seems to be glass so resistant to scratching.Fairly robust construction. At the price I consider it to be good value.

Surprisingly Good
Wasn’t sure what to expect bearing in mind the price point, but this blew me away with its quality, versatility and features.Very little distortion at high magnification, very sturdy, easy to store as it’s so compact and as for value for money, exceptional.Highly recommend!

Excellent product
An absolute must for seeing finely detailed work in projects. It’s just the right size to have on hand and the magnification is ideal. I have a larger one which clips on to a shelf but I much prefer this one for handiness and ease of use. Perfect for my needs. Highly recommend.

Good but bulky!
It does a good job and it convenient when you have it as a desk magnify to look down with having both hands free. However, as a hand held tool then it's to bulky and clumsy, an the on/off switch is in a awful place. In the daylight for example when you pick it up, as soon as you place it in the position to use your thumb "touches" the power button and it turns the lights on. To turn off you have to go through the cycle x4. It's one of those little annoying things that take away that nature motion in using such a too and causing a little frustrating after a few times! Its best benefit is as a desktop tool!

Exceptionally comfortable magnifier with built-in lights
This magnifier is equipped with its own stand and integral LED lights, offering separate: 10-times and 30-times magnification, through two separate lenses. The 10-times magnifier can be used with the integral stand, and allows hands-free usage. The LED lights are built-in around the perimeter of the main lens, with a separate light for use with the hand-held 30 times lens. The main lens is ideal to view small work objects or very small print. The LED lights offer 4 different settings of brightness and colour, all used through a single switch which scrolls sequentially through each of the 4 settings returning to the off position at the end of the sequence.I have bought this magnifier specially for use with small modelling parts, and this has proved ideal for this application. My only small niggle is that the light switch is easy to hit by mistake, and you can be unaware that the lights have been switched on, draining the batteries, which are not supplied with the magnifier. It is a small disadvantage, and once recognised it is easy to be vigilant. As yet I have not found a use for the 30-times magnifier, but this lens has a very small diameter, about 16mm, is only effective when held very close to the object of your inspection. The supporting literature suggests coin examination, and other very small objects. The short focal length means the object must be very close, so this lens cannot used with the stand for this mode of operation, and must be hand held.Overall this is a very useful piece of kit, and economic and sturdy for table top use.
