Great Resource
After recently becoming interested in the concept of Shipping Container homes, I found this book to be a great resource on the topic. Whilst being a very Informative “how to” book, it was also particularly interesting. I found the author to incorporate a charm and wit that is uncharacteristic for this style of book. It just adds to the experience of the read.I haven’t yet decided if I will build a container home, but have considered buying property near the shore south of Charleston South Carolina and wanted to build something that is hurricane proof and of relatively low cost. I now have a Favorite floor plan solution in the perpendicular layout only requiring two containers. While I love this book, I do wish that the author Adam Salner had shared a bit about himself and his experience with shipping containers. I suppose it could be a bit of a mystery by design, but I am still curious on what inspired the Author to write this book. In any case, I am a fan and would recommend this book to anyone interested in this new trend of shipping container homes.

Economical housing solution
Tiny homes are all the rage right now as more and more people look to lessen their carbon footprint. The author explains how homes made out of shipping containers can be economical, environmentally friendly, and esthetically pleasing. The part of the book that really shines is where the author details all the different layouts and models you can use to design your home. There are great pictures and then architectural layouts. This is really an interesting section and allows you to imput your own personality. There are sections on how to heat and cool your home, and do it in an environmentally friendly way. I learned a lot from this book and look forward to implementing what I have learned.

Poorly written, lacks detail
Unfortunately, this book is poorly written — it is rife with grammatical and spelling errors and follows an unclear logic. It is also “high level” to the point of not being very helpful. For example, it suggests the use of “graphics software” to help in design, but doesn’t mention any at all. It suggests hiring a contractor but doesn’t offer any recommendations on how to select or assess one. The section on permits just instructs you to “apply for a permit” and be patient. It has three different sections on budgeting that just tells the reader to have a budget without much elaboration.Nothing described in this book extends beyond the plainly obvious.

Very informative
Even though I ultimately decided against a container home, this book is great. Lots of good information.

Shakin' the bush boss
This books contains a lot of cheesy stock photos of people wearing hard hats, blueprints spread-out on tables, tape measures and t-squares, with several low quality drawings, and several un-credited images lifted off google. Each chapter is merely a collections of sub-headings of which are no longer than a few sentences. This gives the impression that the book contains a tremendous amount of information when viewing the table of contents in the free amazon preview, when in fact, the book contains hardly any useful information at all. Now look at what amazon top 1000 reviewer Riley says, who has given every newly released shipping container home book a 5 star review. You see the pattern? What we have here is a failure to communicate real book reviews. Then you get what we had here last week. Fake reviews. Well... if that's how he wants it then that's how he gets it. I don't like it any more than you readers. I would say that Shipping Container Homes for Beginners: The Complete Step-By-Step Guide To Build Your New, Eco-Friendly, And Super-Cozy Container Home From Scratch. | BONUS: Floor Plans And Design Ideas is 100 percent a waste of money. Best regards, Cool Ingram Luke

Not a step by step guide
If you have any knowledge of construction don’t waste your time with this book. I have minimal construction knowledge and I was above this book. This book should be called construction dictionary for people that know nothing. Not really much on the differences of building container homes and not many pictures to reference never saw a step by step guide
