CarBole Fuel Transfer Pump 12V Water Pump
Our heating is by oil fired boiler and so we have a 1200l oil tank in the back garden. For whatever reason water accumulates at the bottom of the tank and the boiler engineer advised me that there was four to eight inches depth of water in the tank which needed reducing or else it would eventually get high enough to contaminate the oil supply to the boiler. This pump and the 12v Duracell battery were purchased to resolve the problem and it worked admirably. It has a 2m long power cable which was more than enough to reach the bottom of the tank and a 3m long hose which was enough to reach my 50l container raised on a couple of layers of bricks on the ground beside the tank. The battery sat on top of the tank and I had wrapped the switch in tape and polythene which proved unnecessary as it remained outside the tank.In less than five minutes I had drained approximately 40l of water into my container so switched off the pump which continued to act as a siphon pulling out more water even though switched off. This proved the only issue as when pulling out the pump through the oil above the water it took a small quantity of oil into the container. A small amount which then sat on top of the water in the container. Apart from water the tank must also have some crud in the bottom which was caught by the removeable filter. This was a cost effective way of removing the water and I can highly recommend this product .

Impressive for cost
Had to move oil from one tank to another. Worked really well . Used a car battery which was fine but for extended use you may need to charge your battery up. Pleasantly surprised by this kit - did the job well. Plastic hose supplied is a little compressed so you may want to attach something different but wasn’t really a problem .

was very surpriced at how well this worked when you looked at the price , worked well and gives good supply, but are moveing it near the tank to help with the pickup as its on a pickup truck , but very easy to install and does its job well

Ok briefly.
Initially was pumping diesel approximately 18l a minute. The hose that it is supplied with was full of kinks which probably didn't help with the flow rate. After about 20 fills of a 130litre tank on the telescopic forklift the flow rate is down to approximately 3 litres a minute.Cautionary tale buy cheap buy twice. Never used the pump with water so it may perform better. The only up side of the pump is that it was inexpensive. If you only need to use it a couple of times then it might suit your needs. If you are looking for longevity I certainly would recommend you look at alternatives.

Buyer beware
I purchased this to move diesel fuel from a 25l drum to a fuel tank and even though they show a picture of a 25l container with pump easily fitting in container, in reality there is no chance of it fitting, my purchase was influenced by the picture but as it is to large for standard UK 25l fuel container I have returned the product, Also the connecting hose that comes with this product is not as pictured and is flat and larger than the fuel outlet, it will clamp on with supplied clip but probably not the best solution, and sourcing better pipe would probably be the best solution, at to the actual running of the pump i cannot comment as i never got that far
