BaByliss Smooth Ceramic 230 Straightener

These where on offer when purchased so even better value for money than usual.What can I say about the babyliss pro 230? ... well, in all honesty they’re fabulous!I’ve got 4 adult daughters and they all love them and have been a top purchase over the years.As a hairdresser and tutor myself I’ve tried out and used many top salon brand hair straighteners over many years including the most well known more expensive brands. My daughters have also used the more expensive brands but the babyliss 230 have mainly been their go to and a fraction of the price for virtually no difference in achieving results required.The babyliss pro 230 is hotter than some and as hot as other well known brands and work just as well for straightening and creating barrel curls on most hair types including very thick hair. For finer hair with little natural curl, these work like a breeze, just switch on and run though the hair. To get the best results for thicker / wavier har, section hair into small pieces, comb through and placing comb underneath the heated plates glide comb and plates down the hair shaft together slowly. This will give a smoother finish.

Had straighteners before and they always seem to drag. These don’t drag at all. They glide through my very fine hair and leave it feeling silky smooth and shiny. These are a bargain and come with a heat mat that doubles as a case by wrapping around the straighteners with a velcro fastener. I’d recommend them to anyone and everyone. My daughter has an older version of these and has very thick hair and they also work wonderfully for her!!

A decent pair of tiny straighteners. I took these with me for a 3 night trip, to save room in my hand luggage. All in all, they did the job! Of course, they by no means matched up to regular sized straighteners, and it was a bit fiddly, but they managed :)

I recently had my hair cut into a shoulder skimming Bob so purchased these last night, they feel great in my hand and feel like they're quality made, I do agree with others that they do get hotter on the outside of where the plates are than full size ones but I don't think that's a big issue if you pay attention. The cord seems long enough and they heat up very quickly, a cute size too that's easily packed and takes up hardly any space, for the price I can't complain.I would happily have paid a bit more to have a heatproof pouch included with them or maybe a silicone sleeve for the top so they can be packed closed.

My last straighteners were a cheap pair from Asda, intended as a stop gap but they lasted 17 yrs! This time I went for a known brand, paid four times as much and have to say I’m not that pleased. The plates are not as wide as my old pair so it takes longer to do my hair. I am slightly disabled in that following an accident, my left arm does not have a wide range of movement and my old straighteners had a longer handle and guards and were easier to manoeuvre - the new ones aren’t and when they catch you - which is quite frequently for me - they burn a lot! The red light to say they are on is not prominent and the slide switch is easy to leave on ‘low’ so always double check because I have left mine on for 24hrs more than once!! They are very lightweight and I don’t think somehow that they are going to be around for 17yrs. All that being said, they do the job adequately but I burn my fingers most days and I miss my old straighteners more than I can say.

Bought these to replace exactly the same pair that were about 4 years old but went up in smoke!! Beware ladies it does happen!!Worn out electrical fault on the switch, one afternoon they buzzed into life without being asked to, and fired themselves in a puff of smoke! NOW I unplug them when I'm done - just in case 😛Excellent ceramic design. Heats up fast, smooths very kinky hair. Mine's long (past my boobs) Glides effortlessly and makes my hair shiny and straight. The 360° wire on the bottom is great as you don't get the wire all twisted up. To be honest I rarely use the cooler setting, but it's there if you have fine sensitive hair. The heat mat is handy for protecting your surfaces when it's hot and you can wrap it round the tongues when you're travelling to protect them.Thank God for Prime as I was able to get these delivered the next day at a sensible price without the stress of going into town for a replacement.I continue to worship at the altar of Amazon and the God that is Prime 😍😝

Very happy with this purchase, so tiny they are easily transportable. I tuck them in my work bag for those crazy hair moments after a trip into work on a breezy or damp weather day. They do the job to get my hair tidied up in seconds. I have not used them on a full head of hair so can't judge on that but for a quick tidy up they are hot enough and do the job perfectly!

Replaced my straighteners for the first time in 10 years with these ones and I can't believe the difference in quality. These straighteners are genuinely GOOD. They make my normally frizzy hair super shiny and straight and really quickly too. They heat up and cool down fast. Plus you get a little heat mat to place them on so you don't burn your desk. The cable is a good length and the edge of the plates are rounded so you dont get harsh lines in your hair. One of the plates is also on springs so you can clamp them tightly to get better grip on your hair. I highly recommend these. A total steal for the low price.
