A Fishy Tale About the ThermoPro Wireless Thermometer
I purchased and received 2 sets of the TP65 monitors and transmitters about 2 weeks ago. I received a TP60 transmitter today. I purchased these to help me manage the temperature and energy use for cooling my fish tanks and me. I have an upstairs and downstairs living room with a number of fish tanks ranging from 55 gal to 125 gal. The tanks were overheating and the fish were dying because the tanks were reaching 85+ degrees in temperature. I have a Whole House Fan (WHF) that I've been using to cool the house down, but it doesn't help if the temperature outside is already 80+ degrees. I've recently added split A/Cs in the 2 living rooms for cooling. I have transmitters in both living rooms and outside. When the temperature outside drops below 75 degrees, I can use the WHF to cool down the living rooms. When the temperature goes above 75 degrees outside, I use the A/C. I prefer to use the WHF when possible, because is uses 75% less electricity than the A/Cs. Hawaii probably has the highest or close to the highest cost for electricity in the U.S.Couple of things I learned with these thermometers. What temperature feels like versus the actual temperature can vary significantly. In Hawaii, we tend to get a lot of breezes which makes it feel cooler to the skin. So an 85 degree temperature with a 10-15 mph breeze might feel like 75, but the air temperature is still 85. Before using the thermometers, I use to open the windows to "cool" the house with the breeze. Not realizing I was actually bringing in hotter air. It felt cooler to me, but the thermometers are now telling me otherwise. One day I also had a 99 degree reading from my outside transmitter, so I thought the transmitter was broken. I took the monitor outside to compare with the transmitter and sure enough it was 99 degrees. The weather report said it was going to a high of 85 degrees. However, the neighboring area has a lot of concrete and asphalt and not too many shady trees. The air picks up all that extra heat from the ground. So besides the weather report, you also need to take your surroundings into consideration.I have pictures of the TP65 (2.5"H x 2.8"W x 0.75"D) and TP60 (2.5"H x 2.5"W x 0.75"D) transmitters. Both transmitters have rubber gaskets to help keep water from seeping in through the back cover. The TP65 gasket is hard to see in the picture because it is white and blends in with the casing. The TP65 battery cover has a latch to lock the cover down. The TP60 battery has a cover secured by 2 screws. The box also comes with the screwdriver shown. The TP65 took about 10-15 minutes to adjust from 83 degrees to 77 degrees. I believe I have a defective TP60 because it took 2 hours to go from 83 degrees to 77. I'm in the process of returning the TP60.There was another reviewer that was "complaining" about finding the right size screw to mount the transmitter outside. The hole in the back of the transmitter is used for hooking the unit onto the srew. It can be frustrating to find the right size screw that will fit. However the hole in the back goes all the way through the top of the transmitter. So I used a piece of wire to string through the hole and made a hook. Then I could hook it on to any size screw that I happen to have handy.I really like the way the monitor can stand on its own when you pull out the kick stand or mount it on a metal surface with the magnetic back. So I have one monitor free standing in my bedroom and another monitor mounted on my metal whiteboard in my home office.I didn't rate the battery life on the monitor or transmitter because I've only had them for two weeks to test.I know these are not features of the product, but I can dream. Would be nice to have an app to read the monitor or transmitters. Maybe send alerts when certain temperature triggers are reached.Bottom line, I love this product. For my application it will pay for itself in no time.

Accurate and Sensitive, with Easy Setup
I'm actually going to take a bit of time and write a review, because I really think this product deserves it. I've only had it for around two weeks, but so far, so good.I got this wireless thermometer for a bit of an unconventional purpose; as a wireless way to monitor temperature and humidity (mainly humidity) in my Crested Gecko's vivarium. The setup I have really doesn't allow for devices with cords/probes, and reviews for thermometer/hygrometers that were actually made for pets were pretty dismal. So, after seeing this new ThermoPro product with great reviews, I decided to give it a try (my gecko has a pretty big viv and he loves exploring new things, so the addition of a small sensor wouldn't bother him). The outdoor sensor seems to be working great thus far, no major erratic swings in readings at all (unless I do something to make it change, like misting the viv). It's waterproof, but you do need to have it upright so that water doesn't enter the sensor at the bottom. It has a little hole at the top that I threaded a paper clip and string through so I could hang it on a vine. It also has a bright red light that flashes every 30 seconds or so when it sends data to the main monitor, which I worried might bother my gecko, so I carefully covered the solid plastic and red light with dark painter's tape, leaving all the sensors and compartment-opening-points still exposed, and now the light is not noticeable at all, unless you're really hunting for it at just the right angle. Adding the tape did not affect the temp/humidity readouts at all; they stayed the same after applying the tape as they were before. The main readout monitor itself is really nice. It took me a few tries to really get the hang of the controls, but since there's only 3 buttons to tap, it's not that hard. Touch screen is hyper-sensitive, and the backlight (which I thought I would never use) actually is handy since it's positioned in a room that gets hardly any light after sunset, and the numbers can be hard to see if I want to check them in the evenings. But this room is exceptionally dark; the contrast on the readout is more than enough to be easily read in a normally-lit room.As far as accuracy goes, I have to say that it is accurate simply because it says the same things several of my other gauges do. I have one mercury-style thermometer, one analog thermometer, one thermometer/humidity laser gun, and one analog hygrometer. Between all those devices, the numbers really don't change. If anything, I would say my temp gun is the least accurate, but only because it isn't measuring the temp of the air, but the temp of the material it's pointed at, which varies greatly. Therefore, its accuracy is not quite in the same category. At any rate, I just got up and checked all the gauges, and they're identical to what this ThermoPro wireless device says. I find it hard to believe that so many different devices could all be wrong in the exact same way, so I believe this one is accurate.Setup was fairly quick and simple, and took way less time than the directions indicated; so much so that I set it all up twice just to be sure I did it right the first time. Same results, so it looks like it's all correct. All in all, it's shaping up to be a great little device, and I'm glad I got it. It gives me peace of mind to know that everything's the way it should be in my gecko's home with just a quick glance at the screen (which I placed on a nearby bookshelf), and I love knowing the temperature/humidity of my own home, since I did not have any sort of fancy thermostat before (old baseboard heating). I also like knowing that multiple sensors can be registered, so if I ever want to actually put one outside, I can get one and easily do so. If anything changes, I will update this review, but as of right now, I am very happy with my purchase. :)
