This book is a valuable resource for anyone looking to improve their email marketing strategy.

Probably useful to some people
3.5 stars rounded up to 4.I try not to hold it against books when I don’t learn anything new reading them. I try to remember that there are always people out there who could benefit from the book even when I didn’t.But in this case, I had the impression this book would have information in it that isn’t in Volume 1 of “Email Marketing Rules.” Maybe I’m forgetting something, but I don’t feel there was anything substantial in Volume 2 that wasn’t in Volume 1. Maybe some expanded explanations I didn’t need, but I guess I need to remember that someone else might need them. For me, the primary difference between this book and Volume 1 are an increase in typos and formatting errors, which is totally fair to hold against it in a review.So 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 is relatively generous on my part, though again, if you’re relatively new to email marketing, you’ll find a lot of value in both volumes. However, my fear is the people who actually need the information in these books will never read them.

Packed with Valuable Information
I really enjoyed reading this because there was little to no filler, I found value on most pages that applied to my use case. I wanted to skip the section on spam and permissions, but there’s a reason you need to read it first before you move on to anything else. Overall very worthwhile read for the essentials. He doesn’t go too in depth with segmentation, so I plan to read volume 2 as well.

The MUST HAVE sequel
I have 3 books I keep on my desk for reference and two of those are volume 1 and volume 2 of Chad White’s definitive guide to email marketing. If you are in the business of creating digital direct communications or you want to be, these books to me are essential to achieving ongoing success in your career. While there are time-tested best practices to always refer to, it’s constantly evolving, and find that Chad’s blogs are a great companion to the successful strategies in both books. Thank you Chad and please keep on writing and inspiring us!

Bookmark everything
Volume 2 goes into a deeper dive from Volume 1. I find myself referencing both of these books, when i need to brush up, or provide a more concise way to speak to clients or educate others on my team, not familiar with the email space. Another great addition to your library.

An Incredible Resource for Email Marketers
For anyone, at any level, working in email marketing, this is an incredible resource to strengthen your understanding of the channel. Volume 2 builds on many of the strategies covered in Volume 1, but focuses on building better and smarter email programs, with real world examples and checklists to help you along the way. I also found the topics to be very forward thinking by looking at ways to improve email marketing now as well as what the channel may offer in the future as it continues to evolve.
