Brilliant Story
I first saw this in the 1980’s and thought how good it was. Treated myself to the DVD and still think it’s a great story. The story concerns two men born on the same day in 1901, one to a peasant family in Poland and one into an American banking dynasty and their feud once they both live in America. The twist at the end is brilliant.

Good story - dated production and image quality
I remember watching this as an original TV series having previously read the book, and was looking forward to re-watching over a couple of cold winter nights. But, oh how times have changed! The story is still a good one and would probably benefit from a modern remake. However, the picture quality was disappointing (did we really watch TV with such poor image quality?) and some of the production values are rather antiquated.Given that it's still worth a watch.

Excellent series.
Overall this series was engaging. I had read the book and as I admire Sam Neil I wanted to see it. I was not disappointed.

Kane & Abel DVD
I had been waiting for years for this to come out on DVD. I kept checking and finally, to my delight, I discovered it was going to be available. I placed my pre-release order, and even though release was on 18 October, Amazon UK had delivered it to me in Australia by 23 October. Most Impressed!!!As for the DVD...definitely worth the wait, and the quality is good. It was a brilliant show when it was shown originally in the 80's and remains so. The two leads are great actors, and in my opinion are amongst the best around today...especially Sam Neil. Also, being a fan of The Munsters, it was great to see Fred Gwynne in something else...he is brilliant. I'm not really a fan of Jeffrey Archer, but this is a fantastic story. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

If you enjoyed the book, you will enjoy this DVD
Not as good as the book, but OK for something to watch. Well worth the money if you have read the book. I would estimate it follows the book around 90+%. The picture is widescreen, not the old TV square box (4:3). Quality is that of 1980/90'S TV, certainly not in HD TV, but fine. For the actors playing Kane & Able around the 20's age, they could have used other younger actors, but again, it was fine. The special effects show how far we have come since the making of this DVD.If you enjoyed the book, its worth watching this DVD.
