Lovecraft Meets Dr. Seuss – A Brilliant Parody!
This book is absolutely genius! It captures the eerie essence of The Call of Cthulhu while presenting it in a whimsical, Seussian style that’s clever, creative, and hilarious. The rhymes are sharp, and the illustrations are spot-on — fans of Lovecraft will adore it.The seller packaged it with care and shipped it quickly. It arrived in perfect condition and exceeded my expectations. A great buy and a fantastic gift for any horror fan with a sense of humor!

Sheer Genius!
Everyone looking at this product page probably knows up front that this is possibly one of the craziest ideas ever. It is Lovecraft's horror tale "Call of Cthulhu" rewritten in the style of a Dr. Suess book - complete with Suess' typical four-line rhyming stanzas and an extremely accurate imitation of his illustrating style. Yet as crazy as the idea is, it works astonishing well. It doesn't turn the original story into silliness or make fun of it in any way. It actually summarizes it and hits all the key notes of the story quite well. At the same time, it isn't grim and dour and dark. It actually does read with all the light breeziness of one of Suess' stories.Parents will have to decide for themselves whether the "For Beginning Readers" on the cover is meant to be a joke or if the authors were serious about it. Personally, I would say there's nothing really objectionable about the book. Lovecraft was pretty buttoned-up, so there's nothing remotely obscene in his original story and certainly nothing obscene here. There was definitely some implied gore in his original story, but none of that is on display in the illustrations in this version. Overall, I don't see why it wouldn't be safe for beginning readers and they might even learn some interesting new vocabulary from it. After reading it through, I thought it more than safe to get a copy of it for my grand-daughter and I accompanied it with one of the monster plushies that Chaosium also sells.

Very Enjoyable Read!
If you love HP Lovecraft and have an affinity for Dr Seuss, this is the book for you. Separated into three parts, this version of the Call of Cthulhu is written so well and with Dr Seuss like flair everyone loves it makes for a very fun and very enjoyable read. It has quickly become a household favorite. The artistry is also 100% Dr Seuss style and really cool. One word to sum up this book: FANTASTIC

Honestly one of my all time favorite stories/adaptations
I've read hundreds of books in my lifetime, and this is honestly one of my all-time favorites, along with *At the Mountains of Madness* and *Dagon* for beginner readers.

Excellent....but the PDF is better
I read the PDF version of this online and was delighted to find the print version available. But they are two different books. The PDF version is more adult (more allusions to violence and death), and the illustrations do somewhat reflect the racist aspects of Lovecraft's story (not entirely out of keeping with the Seuss tradition either). But I thought the illustrations and poetry were much more enjoyable in the PDF. The print book seems to have been revised for a younger audience. Nonetheless, I found it to also be very creative and entertaining. However, I still think this book is more appropriate for adult Lovecraft fans than little children. The themes are quite dark and not what I would choose for a child's bedtime story, though this version would probably not do much harm if a kid happened to pick it up.
