Works great! But don't expect extreme speeds
Obviously limited by SATA speeds but works straight out the box. Can't complain, doesn't get too hot either, unsure if the other reviewers have a different batch.Perhaps a little pricey, but has lasted well in my system the last few months with 24/7 usage.

Awesome piece of kit at a very reasonable price!
I must say, I've been after something like this for quite sometime, and when I came across it on Amazon at this price, I HAD to buy it! I have more 2.5" HDD's and SSD's lying around from old laptop's than I'd care to mention, so this was a real game changer for me. To be able to quickly and conveniently swap out one HDD for another in just a few seconds is great!. It's saving me a lot of time too and certainly beats the old method of lugging a big and heavy Full ATX tower off the floor and putting it onto a desk to swap out a HDD/SSD internally!

Excellent and well made product
A well designed product that makes it very easy and simple to to fit a 2.5 inch HDD/SSD into a 3.5 inch bay.

Info for anyone fitting this into a Drobo 5N (or 5D)
In the end this product works fine, but I had a couple of problems at first:1) there's no instructions with this adapter. I didn't realise the door of the adapter forms part of the drive ejection mechanism, so I was trying to push the drive all the way in while holding the door open... didn't work! It was only after disassembling it I could see how it worked and where I was wrong - you have to let the door close as you push the drive home.2) For Drobo 5N/5D users... at first I thought this product was badly designed - it seemed to be too long, it wouldn't push all the way and 'click' into place in the Drobo. After comparing it with an actual 3.5" hard drive I could see it was exactly the right size. Further examination suggested that the hair-clip-shaped ejector spring at the back of the Drobo's drive bay was poking through the ventilation holes in the back of the adapter and getting in the way.My g/f had the clever idea of wrapping a sheet of thin strong baking paper around the adapter (just the side where the ejector spring was, so as not to block the sata port) while sliding it home, then slipping the paper out just before clicking it into place. A bit fiddly but it worked a treat. I can also see that, despite that awkwardness, the design of this adapter - exactly matching the volume of a 3.5" HDD - makes it about the only one suitable for screwless mounting such as in the Drobo.I was going to all this trouble as I wanted to put silent laptop drives in there...

Pointless device, flimsy assembling, bad description
I wasted 2days sorting and double checking. For a start there were missing screws, which are so tiny and difficult to handle. Furthermore the attachment of the blades is super complicated with 3tiny parts that need to be fiddled together.Others like IciBox attach a blade with one specially shaped screw that you can easily grab with your fingers.Once you got it all in the next problem you will encounter is how to move the raid’s dip switches and confirm the selection with the push button while the drive is under power, but inserted in the laptop.Ok let’s use an external USB enclosure. The problem in most you still can’t get to it, but you can remove the data to usb adapter from the external case and it should work.Wrong again, because that data controller is likely not to be capable of port multiplying and you will either see one drive only or none at all. Singly tested the blades are fine and the board is to with any blade slot. The port multiplier will also be a problem in your laptop‘s bios. You see one dive only and the laptop I used was about 4-5 midrange laptop. I also tried slightly older top of the range Thinkpads. Same problem. So which labtops then actually are compatible? No point at looking at newt one‘s albeit thei possibly have port multipliers, but they also will not have space for 2½ Sata but direct NGFF slots, or if even newer they Haverhill NVME standard. And the blades are not compatible, albeit same size as NGFF. And the are cheaper and faster too. So after all the bad points the product also actually turns out to be a pointless product to have.Hence it’s going back to Amazon and so are the two Western Digital 256gb NGFF Blades.I am furious with the company that the did not bother in their sales description to mention this. Clearly they don’t want to cause buyer’s hesitation in buying the product and don’t care that I wasted two days trying out all sorts of combinations before I found out the issue. Are they hoping that some people might not return the product they can’t use and still have a sale? Certainly looks like that.PS. 1star only, because I cannot post a Regieeinfall if I don’t at least select 1Star otherwise ZERO

Good but screw hole not standard
Fits the ssd like a glove, very easy to put in. My only complain is the screw size. Why on earth would you not use disk standard screw size hole on a box that is supposed the standardize the disks to 3.5 bay ? My computer user rails to slide disks inside the slots. I had to go to a lot of trouble to use the tiny screws that comes with it. This is such a stupid desing flaw to me that it disserve losing 2 stars even if most of the people may not have any issue with it

does as it should
nice little converter, but needs the needs the bigger one that that fits into the 5.5" bay that hold the 3.5"hdd then it kills 2 birds with 1 stone

Highly recommended
Great adaptor - I used mine to switch to an SSD in my old iMac and this adaptor made things so easy. It literally took me 5 minutes to load my SSD in to this. It is a bit pricey but you really do get what you pay for. It's made of very high quality components and I would recommend it.
