Perfect for the job intended
The ceiling mount was just what was needed to rescue our sagging L-shaped curtain rail. Easy to fit after cutting to size. Measure twice, cut once!

Did the job
The plastic is a different colour to the bar but it cut down well and it is a strong little bar

Curtain support
Does exactly what was needed to support the shower rail. Downside is shower curtain doesn't pass around the support, that's in my case. A work around would be 2 curtains, one either side

Curtain rail
This rod arrived on time and did the job. I did use a plumber to put it up - but I guess if you have knowledge of such things you'll be able to do it. It did secure nicely to my shower rod.

My own Fitting Guidlines below
The instructions are rather vague, so if you have problems - look at my own guide below. The product is reasonably made, but the hook/rail holder and chrome like ceiling mount cover, are plastic. I suspect that this is intentional as it needs to clip over the rail, unless you can thread it through an open ended rail. It looks quite neat when fitted.Fitting Guidance:To remove the plastic chrome cover from the white plastic fixing point you need to carefully lever it off with your fingers. It is held on by a raised rim on the fixing. If you need to use an implement then find something that will not damage the cap, such as a broad-ish screwdriver and very gently apply pressure. There is a nut and bolt that passes through the centre of the white plastic fixing, and it is not obvious what this does. It actually holds a separate internal core which is tapered. As the bolt is tightened it acts as an internal force to push out the plastic collar on which the metal tube will eventually be fitted, thus gripping it. (Do nothing with this as yet.)Position the white plastic fixing on the ceiling making sure that it is centrally located directly above the rail that you want to support. (Use a spirit level if possible)If you are able to screw into a joist, this is preferable, but they can be difficult to identify. If you are fitting into plasterboard, do not use the plastic plugs provided. Buy three proper plasterboard plugs. Drill one hole and fit your screw retaining plug, unless you are screwing into a joist. Screw the holder to the ceiling, but don’t tighten fully.Move the fitting around on the single screw to position it exactly above the rail. You can then mark and drill the second and third holes. Do not screw into place at this point. You now need to measure carefully the distance between the plastic mount and the bottom of the rail. Cut the metal tube to size (at the open end) using a hack saw. I cut it slightly longer at first and offered it up before cutting it to the actual size. You may feel confident to measure and cut just once. File away any barbs or sharp edges left after the cut (Inside and Out).Remove the plastic fitting from the ceiling.IMPORTANT: Place the plastic chrome cover onto the tube, open end up.Push the chrome tube onto the fitting as far as it will go, making sure that the hook is aligned with the rail. If it seems too tight to get on, then you may need to release the central locking nut – just a fraction. Do not undo it so far that the central core moves around as you will not be able to tighten it once it is in the tube. You can now tighten up the central fixing bolt until the core expands enough to hold the tube firmly.Fit the remaining two plugs (if needed) and screw the whole fitting back into the ceiling and tighten all screws clipping the hook over the rail. Push the plastic chrome cover over the white plastic fitting until it clicks
