Very good for kitchen knives

Excellent quality stone, great size and flatness. I've mounted mine to resist slipping, and use it for sharpening planes and chisels. Very useful, along with the fluid. I got it for a good price too.

Absolute rip off for this supposedly good quality diamond plate!After just over a month of regularly sharpening a few chisels, Once sharpening a plane iron and three kitchen knives, it's lost almost all it's abrasion.Since new, there's been odd pieces of diamond regularly dislodging and catching on whatever you're trying to sharpen, which leaves scratches and score lines. This has gotten worse, to the point where it's unusable. I'm very annoyed!

My first foray into a proper diamond bench stone, and I have not been dissatisfied. The 300 grit addresses any dinks swiftly whilst the 1000 is ideal for honing. I use the Trend lapping fluid because it invalidates their warranty if used with other products. So yes, not the cheapest but a really nice stone.
