The lamp is lasting longer...
purchased this for my sons snake/vivarium (it is withing a cage to prevent the snake being harmed)The Ceramic Lamp Holder was easily installed, the lamp has lasted far longer than any heating bulb that he has had to date - it was costing us a fortune as the ordinary heat lamp kept blowing ???not sure if it was something he was doing, but this one has lasted 2 months so far - and I am touching wood - when you are paying £8 a light bulb for him every two weeks or so - the ceramic holder and lamp are brilliant and well worth the investment.

Very handy!
Brilliant, easy way of fitting lights/heaters into a viv, there are even sucker things you can buy to fix them to glass! Good purchase and alot cheaper than you would get in a pet shop, or a clamp lamp that takes up a silly amount of room!

Good product but would have like a high / low heat setting
We bought this lamp holder for our outdoor hen coop which has small Serama hens. I think they used to live indoors so we were worried about them feeling the cold over winter. It was easy to fit and importantly takes ceramic lamps (our previous holder burnt out because it wasn't meant to take ceramic lamps, just infrared lamps, which we were unaware of). I've deducted a star because it would be great if it had a double switch for high and low heat settings like our previous. Also it doesn't have a cage to protect the birds from it - I didn't think this would be a problem as it is quite high up in the coop but found one girl was flying up past it trying to get flies in the cobwebs! I watched her as I couldn't work out why she was covered in cobwebs - cobwebs now removed from eaves :)

Arrived on time, very sturdy no issues. Bit awkward to screw into place, due to the holder being over the screw holes

Bright! Does the job. My Cockatiels seem to like it and at least I know they are getting the kind of light that they need to stay healthy.

Returning
Bought one of these previously and worked brilliant however ordered another for a new tortoise set up and sadly had to return, product looked second hand and didn’t work at all fortunately I tried it before fitting it, bulbs didn’t screw in straight and I tried 4 bulbs that worked in another fitting but wouldn’t work in this one, very disappointed as I needed the item

Not a lot of thought in this.
I’ll start by saying I love Arcadia and have no issue with them or their products usually.The item it’s self is good. It is quality and does what it needs to do. The cable is very long and switched which is ideal. I have no issue with that.However. Mine came with no fixing screws. No inner packaging. And a shoddy box. Looked like it had been sent to someone else and returned and not professionally repacked. If it was it should have been sold for less as a grade b product.Nevertheless I needed it and didn’t have time to send back and get another.
