Excellent product. Like many others, I did not want a monthly 'package' as I only want to be able to access all the iPlayers and YouTube. However, you are forced to select at least one package and give payment details during the account setup on the website (before the setup of the product to the TV), so as other customers have suggested, once the acount setup was complete I was able to go back to my account and Cancel the Entertainment package I had previously chosen immediately. The option to Cancel is right there under the package selected, so it was an easy process. My cancellation was confirmed immediately within my account and again by email.Unlike connecting a laptop to the TV to watch the iPlayers, the Now box provides a simple and quick method of access to these and also there is no programme 'hanging' like I was getting via the laptop, plus you can control the Play / Pause from the Now remote instead of having to use the mouse to do this on the laptop.

Forced to buy the uprated black box to replace the old white one, to sweeten the pill NOWTV gave 50% off with proof of purchase the discount being shown as a credit on the account.The black is certainly faster but picture remains at 720p, not 1080 as suggested. The set up is still a pain with codes to enter under threat of a time limit.Thankfully all existing passes were transferred OK. The new layout still gives each film/series multiple entries across the menu which can be annoying.Overall faster and better but only a little bit above the white box.

This is my second now TV box after the first one gave up the ghost after a couple of years constant use, and honestly for this price, its a bargain, even if it only lasts a year its still quite cheap as far as entertainment goes. Installation was easy, I just swapped the old dead box with the new one using the old boxes power and HDMI lead, then set up the wireless connection.

DO NOT BUY THIS!! I bought this Now TV Box 2 for my Dad as a Christmas present (so that he could watch BBCiPlayer for free on his TV). Upon opening the device it became clear that you need to enter your credit card details to register the product before use. Apparently there is an option to remove your credit card details later, but only after initially registering with your credit card. I returned the package to the seller (Shop2Direct). I had to pay the postage too. The seller contacted me and told me that I would receive NO refund for the product. Shop2Direct claimed that the cardboard box was ripped and the equipment had a slight scratch on the surface (which it did not). Fortunately Amazon provided a partial refund. I received no refund from the seller. This is a total waste of money and the service is terrible. Many other people have experienced the same as me. For the record, if you are thinking that I am a prickly customer, I can confirm that I am a laid back person who hardly ever complains. However, I feel as though I have to warn others about this product and seller. DO NOT BUY this product. Shop2Direct customer service is quite simply disgraceful. You have all been warned!

Delivered on time. Worked first time out of box. Easy to set up and install. Be warned Sky has disabled access to developer mode so you cannot sideload Plex or indeed any other apps. In a strange coincidence I updated the apps on my Samsung TV and Plex is there as an official app. Otherwise everything works as described. I am using a wired Ethernet connection which is really fast with no time lag. Also update picture resolution in Settings/Display type to 1080p if your tv is compatible.Thanks.

A nicely designed bit of electronics, fits neatly under my TV. I currently run it with a wired Ethernet, so I cannot comment on the quality of the WiFi interface. I haven't used it extensively yet, but will upgrade it to 5 * after I have used it for some time. Slightly disappointing that I need to run another computer as a Plex server to access my music and photographs from my network attached hard disc, but I guess that's the way it works.Delivery was fast, and came well protectedI am happy with it - but not deliriously so
