Great remake of possibly the best console
For it's time the SNES was perhaps the best console of all time. Competition from SEGA put Nintendo on their toes. Capcom, Konami, square enix, and Nintendo released many of their best games this generation. Unlike the most consoles of the 90s this system has aged well. So this system is a throw back to the PLAY IT LOUD time of Nintendo. So what do you get? Well the euro version is internally the same as the US, but you do not get a power supply(any 5v USB tablet/phone will do) and a far more handsome design. So unlike original pal versions of snes games this runs at full 60hz/60fps. It also upscale to 720p, though 1080p or 4k would be nice I dought the hardware could do it with mode 7. Speaking of hardware the internal storage is 100% the same as the NES classic. It also has 246mb of free space. So with modding you can easily add 70+ more games with room for save states. The controllers feel great. Button presses are super satisfying and every plastic part feels good for what it is. I've got only two gripes. One the length of the wire controllers; two to plug in the controllers you must fold down the dummy control ports. It's an odd design.Look this is simple and fun for my kids and myself. It's easy to use, and easy to modify. It's so much more convenient to my old snes. And better quality than a raspberry pie case. The euro version looks so much better than the box America got. It's been well worth it for me and the games are timeless.

Extra items you should pick up
What an awesome little system, and I do mean little. This tiny thing is about 1/4 the size of it's progenitor. The design matches the original though but of course in tiny form. The differences being for one the way you plug your controllers into the front and of course the connection ports in the back. What appear to be controller ports on the front is actually a faux pull out panel that reveals the real ports underneath. They want it to maintain the original look of the system when the controllers are not plugged in. Kind of silly but whatever. The only connections in the back are the HDMI port to connect it to your current day TV and a micro USB port to power the unit. It goes from a micro to a normal size USB. Here may be one of the first 'extra' things you may need. An AC to USB adapter which they do not include. Another option is that you can just plug it into a empty USB port on the back of your TV which worked for me. Also if your TV is shy enough HDMI connections then another 'extra' item you may want to get is a HDMI switch. A switch not a splitter. Look it up and you'll see what I mean. I had to buy one myself as my TV only has two HDMI connections and they were both already being used. The unit also comes with two controllers which appear to be exact replicas of the originals though I'm sure there is some minor not worth mentioning differences as they work perfectly. Except for a couple of things. First the cord length is way too short so here is where I advise you on purchasing another 'extra' item and that would be cord extenders. Unless you are not that far away from the TV this is a must. Also worth mentioning is that the only way to get back out into the menu screen when already in a game is to actually hit the re-set button on the system itself. Or buying yourself a controller that has a re-set button built into it such as the Wii classic controller which I happen to already own and it works perfectly. I went for the European version of the SNES because it was cheaper at the time and I kind of like the look of it a little more. Either way it works just fine in the USA where I live so no need to worry about that and the language used in the menus and dialog through out all the games is English. If your TV or monitor has a HDMI connecter then it will work no matter where you live and this is why it's listed as not being region locked. The US and European versions have the menus and games in English and the others do not. One thing I do wish is that Nintendo would make it possible to hook this up to the internet and download more games onto it legally. I wouldn't mind dishing out a little more money if I were able to select a few more games to have on it. I did say legally. And that is all I have to say about that. I love it and recommend it if you loved the SNES back in the day as much as I.Here is the list of games that are included.Contra 3: The Alien WarsDonkey Kong CountryEarthBoundFinal Fantasy 3F-ZeroKirby Super StarKirby's Dream CourseThe Legend of Zelda: A Link to the PastMega Man XSecret of ManaStar FoxStar Fox 2Street Fighter 2 Turbo: Hyper FightingSuper Castlevania 4Super Ghouls 'n GhostsSuper Mario KartSuper Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven StarsSuper Mario World (should have been Super Mario All Stars + Super Mario World)Super MetroidSuper Punch-Out!!Yoshi's Island

Nostalgia
The media could not be loaded. Disclaimer: I traded a controller with a friend therefore note the US SNES controller was not included. Also note the EURO controller is different and doesn’t have the concaves X & Y buttons, I didn’t like that which is why I traded one of them.Don’t give in to scalpers, I paid an additional $10 on the price of the regular US SNES classic which isn’t bad considering this version isn’t easily available, but certain vendors are raising the price to ridiculous proportions. Just beware and shop around.Decent effort by Nintendo, just know your childhood isn’t as great as you think it was in retrospect. Games like Star Fox are very archaic and almost annoying to play, I fairly enjoy the SNES classic as a whole for what it is though.I’m more happy about the fact that I didn’t get scammed. The EURO version just looks so much better so I don’t mind the mark up in price.Power wise this unit works fine with my cell phone power brick, the electrical specifications are stated on the box.I’ve seen folks complain about controller wire length but I like it, it’s part of the nostalgia, just sit on the floor any play, plus the short cable makes it easier to reach the reset button for when u want to rewind a game. Now what you really want to know. (allegedly)This European version is able to play US roms (not that I would know anything about that first hand). So no worries about all that PAL and NTSC rigamaroo, I don’t even know the difference I’ve never been to Europe, I believe the only issue presents itself with the Japanese Famicon version.Simple and easy you don’t have to be technologically inclined.
