I bought this almost exactly 1 year ago & I just now need to replace the filter. The remote is nice but wish it was Bluetooth or app controllable as well. All the features work good for me. Winter allows me to heat just a living room while I’m watching TV & the fan works great in the Summer. When cooking I turned on the purifier alone & on high to keep room smells at a minimum. No complaints so far.

These fail after 2 to 6 months. I purchased 2 in September 2024 and the first failed in October just beyond the 30 days return from Amazon; however, Shark replaced it under their 2 year warranty. The second one failed in November 2024 and again Shark replaced that. Now the first replacement just failed which now totals 3! They all fail in the same mode, the heater is set to 75 and it just quits, no noise no smell. I'm now waiting for Shark to replace the replacement. They have a serious engineering problem with this product. Just read the other (1) reviews. Hopefully Shark re-engineers these units and swaps out all the defective ones. Durability is a big fat zero.This is a follow-up to above review. It has been nearly 3 weeks since I last contacted Shark Ninja and at the time Eric stated that I would receive an email with instructions on how they were going to handle the problem and there has been no contact from Shark! It appears that they figured out they had a problem with all their stock and don't know what to do about. I'm going to call them again to find a resolution for the latest failure. 3/4/2025This is follow up # 2. The saga continues. After speaking with Shark about failure #3, they said they would ship another one but found out they were out of stock and didn’t know when they would get any. They gave me a choice of waiting for a new one or receive my purchase amount as a check. I chose to wait.A week later I received a new 3-1; however, it wasn’t HC501 that I had purchased. Shark decided on their own to ship me the smaller version which only covered 500 sq ft vs. HC501 that covered 1000 sq ft. I received an email stating there would be no reimbursement and the considered the matter closed. . . well I don’t. We’ll see where it goes from here! 3/30/2025

Lovel this. It cools my room in the summer and heats it in the winter. This is the best air purifier I ever bought.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I have used many Shark products over the years. Most of them were very good. I needed an air purifier and saw this one and bought it. I opened it and set it up and turned it on to try it out. I find the function keys are hard to see and harder yet to make sure I have them on the right settings. I felt the air flow and there seems to be just barely any air flowing from anywhere on the unit. I tried the purifier and the heat settings. I could not detect any heat and the purifier said the air was pretty clean. I am not sure I am getting what I wanted from this unit. I was going to send it back but found that I was beyond the return date. I did not want to go through a hassle and try to return it anyway, so I am trying to use it. I am not happy with it and do not think it works very well. If you get one make sure and try it out soon after it arrives and see if you can tell anything it is doing, and if you can see and understand the function keys. I think my unit is destined for the closet for a while before I decide to throw it out. I am going to get another brand of unit but not until I have fully researched it.
