Great iron.. not the downsides I've read about
This is a great iron, despite some of the negative reviews. Either the company has updated the iron since some of those, or people just have unrealistic expectations. Here's what I found (as well as counter-point to some of the negatives):- Temperature control - it's a breeze. Synthetic is truly a mild heat, while cotton and linen are very hot.Perfect for every job- Water capacity - more than sufficient. I've ironed two full loads of clothes on high heat/medium steam(like 10 shirts, 5 pants/shorts) and still had plenty left in the tank- Filling the tank is pretty easy. Yes you do have to have the iron in the same position as if you'reironing, but with the large capacity tank I only have to fill before I start ironing. I have filled onceduring ironing and just did it over the sink.. no big deal- Easy to tip over - I don't find that's the case. It sits fairly stable and is about average weightOther things I like is how, when you swing the readout to fill, there's a little damper there that opens up. This closes when you close the readout making it an additional seal for the water reservoir. This iron cools so much faster than my previous one.. love that I can put it away within an hour or so of ironing. I also like the retractable cord; so convenient. If there's any thing I'd ask for is a cord that's about a foot longer. That would mean the iron would be bulkier to accommodate it, so I'm okay with it's current length. This was a great purchase.. I highly recommend!

Exactly right
If you love ironing, or if you simply love well-ironed clothes, this is the one. It's a good, heft weighty, which I find easier to use. You don't have to push so hard to smooth the fabric. Even shirt plackets and flat-felled seams easily smooth out. And I no longer need to pull them tight with one hand and push down hard with the other to make it happen. The iron does the work. Very sharp nose gets in all the tight places. But the best part is the strong, even steam and heat. It doesn't flare and fade like some irons. I'm ironing heavy cotton and linen twice as fast with half the effort.Pros:Strong, even steamGood heat levelsQuiet compared to other steam ironsOutstanding ability to iron out wrinkles even in heavy materialsWorks fastEasy to fillNice hefty weight, not like a toy ironCons:The reservoir is generous, but you'll have to refill fairly often as this puts out a lot of steamIt could fog your glasses!

Best iron I've ever used!
I have been using Rowenta irons, and have been dissatisfied with them lately, as the quality has diminished terribly. This iron does not leak, has more steam holes on the bottom plate than the Rowenta I used, and gets hot enough to iron out the wrinkles on linen pieces beautifully. It also has a large water reservoir, so that I'm not refilling it with every other shirt I iron. I wear a lot of linen in the summer, and I'm not a fan of the wrinkled look. I've read that this iron is on the heavy side. I disagree. Yes, it feels substantial, but no heavier than what I've been using, without all the spitting, leaking, and refilling. Wonderful product.

Best Steam Iron Ever
I'd never heard of this brand, but it was the top recommended steam iron on Wirecutter. They were right - it's a great iron. I'm a quilter/crafter and frequent fabric and clothes ironer. This iron is better than either of my two previous (now leaking and unreliable) Rowenta irons. The steam function on the CHI is so good that there's no need to use the boost of steam function. The cord pulls out and retracts smoothly and easily, and the 30 minute automatic shut-off time is perfect for the back and forth between my sewing machine and the iron - the 6 minute before shut-off on the Rowenta was too short. The CHI is a fair price for an iron this good for someone who irons a lot. I believe this model is discontinued, but there are still some left on Amazon, and Wirecutter says the next model of this one is just as good.

Nice Iron
Iron does its job very well. Cord is nice and long. While the retractable cord works and is a nice feature, it's rather finicky. Water reservoir fills while laying the iron flat - not standing. I initially thought this was a little inconvenient until I realized it's really easy to fill directly from a faucet this way. This iron gets very hot and really pumps out the steam. Of course, this means more frequent fillings, but it's what you want an iron to do and as i said, it works very well. Nice and smooth.

Excellent iron. Worth the money.
So far so good. I love a good iron and this is excellent. But haven’t had it that long. I hope it continues!
