Works great!
We really get a kick out of spiralizing sweet potatoes and zucchini with this machine. Makes eating veggies fun!We tried the crank-it-by-hand version from Oxo before we bought this machine - it is so much easier!

So much easier
I used to make a lot of spiralized veggies, using my Paderno manual, horizontal spiralizer. I gave up after a while because it's not easy to use unless you have short, perfectly straight veggies. It's also not super easy to clean, and makes a mess on the countertop.I've recently started craving zoodles again :) so I went on the hunt for something easier to use, figuring that by now, they should have optimized the process. Saw this electric, vertical one, figured it was cheap enough to try.I only got it yesterday, so I've only used it once, today, to make zucchini and carrot noodles. And oh my, holy zoodle, it was SO.EASY and seamless.First, assembly is very, very easy and only takes a few seconds. Then I ran my (big) zucchini through it and ended up with perfect zoodles in a minute. No effort at all. Just put it in the chute, press the pusher into it (lightly), push the button once, and down it goes into the bowl in perfect zoodles. No half moons either. Then I did two carrots. So that was a little less perfect because they weren't thick enough (you want the thick and straight ones to spiralize, I only had long, thin(ish), cone-shape ones). But I cut them in half and only spiralized the thickest half, and they came out great. Having a free hand means I was also able to munch on the other half in the meantime. They did take more time than the zucchini because they're not as soft. But all in all it took less than 5 minutes total. The only con is the size of the leftover core. Bigger than with the Paderno, but a funnier shape. I'll just roast them with my dish and use them as decoration. Or cut them up and add them to a salad. I'd throw them in a soup if I were making one today.Washing was also very easy and quick. I did use a little brush that came with another appliance. You could use a toothbrush.Compared to the Paderno, this was so much easier, comfortable and fast. No hand hurting because you have to awkwardly hold the veggie while pushing it with the same hand and cranking with the other. No awkward cuts (half moons) because your zucchini isn't perfectly straight and centered. No zoodles and bits on the countertop. Cleaning is also much, much easier.I'd probably still use the Paderno for some things. Like veggies too big to fit the HB (beets) or to soft to be spiralized from the side (bell peppers), or too hard for the HB power (not sure what, maybe winter squashes). Or when I want a finer cut (wish there was one on the HB).

Dishwasher safe! Try to choose produce that closely fit the size of the feed tube!
This is a great product. You must hear the chute click in order to operate the machine. All parts wash easily in the dishwasher. I’m, however, knocking off one star because vegetable size is the key to success with my machine. I find it needs larger sizes of vegetables to better fit the chute. Zucchini works perfectly, smaller bagged carrots didn’t work at all for me. All the pieces stack making storage both compact and easy.

The Best Yet
I've had many of these over the years and I always end up donating them. The non-electric ones often use suction cups to hold it in place. So I have to crank or spin AND hold the unit in place. With this unit, however, everything just works. It's small. It's fast. It does a great job without moving. just feed the vegetables slowly, that's normal. It has a small footprint. All the parts store inside the canister. I love it. As I wrote, it's the best one yet after having tests tons of them. Size, ease of operation, storage, all great.Amazon did a great job, as usual, getting it to me. It's been a great company to do business with for many years, and NO, I am not employed by them. I don't even know anyone who is, nor do I own their stock. I don't even know if they're traded. But Amazon clearly values competence and efficiency above all else. That makes happy (return/repeat) customers like me. So there.

Great kitchen tool at a reasonable price
I love this electric spiralizer! So much better than a manual machine.I bought this specifically because I used to have a manual machine that suctioned to the counter and spiraled the veggies horizontally. I hated it because the suction never worked and the machine would be moving all over the counter to get the veggies cut. And it was really difficult to manually stabilize the machine while trying to manually cut the veggies. But ALL those issues are gone with this spiralizer. It's electric. It cuts vertically instead of horizontally. It's really easy to use and easy to clean. PLUS, it comes with a cup that the cut veggies fall into, so the counter stays clean and it's easy to see how many veggies you have.I love everything about it. It's not too loud and it comes with three styles of cutter for three types of veggie "noodles."My only complaint is that the way it cuts, it leaves a cone of veggie each time... this is so the metal of the holder (which you spear the veggie onto) doesn't touch the metal of the cutting blades. I just don't like that there's extra knife work for me if I want to use the whole zucchini or squash.Overall... love! Plus, great price.

Great while it worked.
Stopped working on third use. I used it twice and it was great. Tried the third time later and the machine would not turn on.

Easy and effective spiralizer
Used this Hamilton Beach electric spiralizer on the day we received it. It produced perfectly spiralized zucchini for our meal. The blade was easy to clean using our kitchen sink sprayer. (Hint: we did this before the zucchini fragments dried in the blade.) We look forward to using it again soon.
