Great practice sword that more closely simulates a steel sword than using a wooden one
I've had one of these, an earlier version, for the past 2 years. Great sword and can easily withstand faster sword forms like Sen Cye Sword. I use it now for my practice and was even allowed to use in in one seniors competition and no one could tell the difference until they looked closely. The reason mine looked so real is that I went to the store and got some brass and silver metallic silver spray paint and painted it up nicely. Paint adheres well unless you want to do some sword fighting, then you have to repaint a bit. Sword looks real with the paint job and has nice detailing. It has the weight of a light sword and handles well. Takes a little getting used to at first if all you are using is a wooden sword. Balance is good. The thing I really like about this is you don't have to worry if someone steals it due to its low cost and there is no worry about using it in the rain, rust, or it falling apart (as it consists of only two parts the guard that slides over the sword blade and handle and snugs in place). Only complaint is that if you leave it leaning on the wall the blade gets a bit curved and you have to bend it back the other way a little to straighten it out, not a real problem. Blade is thick enough to withstand mock sword drills with another person having a wooden or polypropylene sword. Great buy if you are starting out. I don't use my wood sword any more since I started using this one for form practice. If I needed another practice sword this in my opinion is the way to go instead of a wooden sword.

More a toy than a practice tool.
This a toy, at best. It's nowhere near the real weight of a sword, not even half. It's only 40" in length, 29.5" of it is blade. I should have looked at a tape measure before ordering. Point of balance is moot because the thing is SO light anyhow, I'm not sure it would beneficial for even form work.Suppose you could paint it up, and it might be decent for cosplay.Arrived in a large box, product straight and undamaged.Comfortable to hold, but if you keep it you might want to wrap the handle in something with traction. I suppose it's durable, but it doesn't have the presence enough to instill confidence enough to strike anything meaningfully. It is constructed well, it's just not very substantial.I knew what I was getting in to when I made the purchase, but the toyish nature of this really took me by surprise! I'll keep it, if nothing else it will be a good tool for absolute beginners in our lightsaber group. But as far as long word practice goes, I'd recommend going with Red Dragon or one of the Penetti or Knightshop synthetic swords from Purpleheart it other hema suppliers, I think they're available on Amazon. It's worth the price, quality-wise, but it's just the right tool for the job.

Perfect for tai chi (dao) practice
I'm using this to practice the (hunuyan) chen 24 sword (dao) form. The weight is good, and the polypropylene is super durable and appropriately blunt for practicing. The size is as advertised (good length). It moves well, and if you're looking for something for broadsword practice (versus lighter or straight sword practice), this is a good purchase. It is hefty/durable enough that you shouldn't whack anyone with it (it'll hurt!). The only detractor I've noticed is that the guard is circular and sufficiently wide enough that adjusting the type of grip takes some getting used to. Bottom line: it's a great practice sword.

Fun
Used these to spar and hit the crap out my buddys. The plastic is dull but the plastic still hurts like being hit with a brick depending on where your hit. Decent value, had them for about a year before one of the hand guards broke off. The hand grip is decently comfortable and the length of the blade is a decent size, wish it was a tad bit longer. The material is very strong so it’s hard for the blade to put bend or chip after multiple clashes.

Sturdy practice sword.
This sword was purchased to practice and perform on stage. It has an authentic look and wait, but is very sturdy. I have purchased before and will likely purchase again. Unlike other toy/pretend swords, it can be used over and over again without breaking. Being simple plain melamine type plastic, it was very reasonably priced.

Love it for sword form practice (taekwondo)
I cant use this in my dojo formally to test or compete with it, since it is not a school authorized product (ATA insurance issues and regulations dictate these things) but I LOVE it for practice at home and if I need an extra sword to run the form with one of my kids to show them side by side, or for a private lesson for a student who doesn't own the sword. I use this one to demo, they use my regulation one, and all is well. Great weight to it; cool color. My boys love the matte black finish!Wish the hilt were a LITTLE bigger, but overall not a dealbreaker. Feels very good in the hand. The finish helps your grip since its not slick or hard plastic. Considering this is more than 2/3 cheaper than buying another sword from my dojo, it is a steal. It is heavier and that is a plus for me: it will give my arm even more of a workout but not enough to feel completely different from the weight of the regular sword when I need to use it to test or compete.

Heavyduty blade
After spending too much on flimsy swords that broke after a sword fight or two, I bought this for my boys. One of my sons has a high quality martial arts sword and this sword is even better made than that one, though a bit heavier. They don't mind the extra heft because this thing is super sturdy and strong, but light enough that a 5 year old can wield it in sword fight battles. We made a cardboard/black duct tape sheath since there isn't one that comes with the set.Definitely an outside toy!!! My older son jabbed it at a cardboard box and put a hole right through it like nothing, so beware of your walls and light fixtures if playing indoors because this thing is a solid beast of a training blade
