This thing is amazing. As a pool owner, I am using a hose often. WIth the water connection by the house, I am sick of having a hose stretched out across the lawn when using it. So I got this, ran a 40 foot leader hose along the fence line, and now I have my hose reel right on the patio near the pool. SO MUCH BETTER.My only annoyance was the stakes that came with it to hold it down are not like what I saw in the videos on this product, the ones I got have a screw mount on top that doesnt really hold it tight, and the ones i see in the videos for this product look like they are a better design. Regardless, they work fine, just would rather have the other design.Everything about it seem high quality. I am absolutely going to buy more Giraffe Tools in the future. I already have my eye on that garage vacuum.Great job, great product.

So far, so good. Works as advertised. However, definitely follow the guidelines, i.e., turn off the water at the spigot and drain the hose before retracting. Then, guide the hose into the device SLOWLY! Do not just "snap" it back. Taking the slower route assures the hose will line up with the track inside the casing. Water pressure isn't bad with the slightly larger version of this particular hose, and the spray nozzle works well. It definitely is an expensive product, but it does work well and is oh-so much easier than trying to hand-wind a hose onto a reel.

It is convenient with a thoughtful design. We secured it on the ground in a flower bed (mulched area) and it stays well.The hose is good, though more narrow than our prior hose, so make sure the hose diameter is what you're looking for.The plastic sprayer holder is not well made and easily falls off the main unit.As noted in other reviews, the handy horizontal slider that keeps the hose evenly wound is on a belt driven mechanism, but that belt can easily come off. It is difficult to put back on, but it's doable. Be sure to allow the hose to wind back in slowly, which should help it to stay in one piece longer.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:The hose reel has a cheap quality belt that connects to the oscillating guide that comes off track very easily. It literally came off the first time I reeled the hose out. You don't notice it until the hose starts reeling back in one place and locks up. Then you have to take the front cover off and use a hook tool to guide it back on. The reel spring is also very weak and doesn't pull the hose all the way into the case to the hose stop. It will always leave about 5 feet of hose out of the case. My advice would be to shop for something else that is good quality and don't get taken to the cleaners like I did. I bought this to make things easier for my wife and she absolutely hates it.

Great product so far! I will update if it changes, but so far it seems like a high quality product. The hose is pretty hard to pull out, but that’s expected as you’re pulling on a spring. I like how easy it is to retract back into the main box. I picked this one over the others because I didn’t want it hanging on the house. It looks much better than the ones that are hanging off the house.

I’ve only had this a month but 1) it doesn’t appear to have an indicator that you’re getting close to the end or I haven’t reached it yet, 2) the mechanism on the bottom that goes back and forth to wind the hose no longer moves and is fixed, 3) it no longer retracts fully because of this.It has a nice build and sturdy quality but this winding mechanism stopped functioning properly after maybe 6 times of using it with very light use. I probably only have pulled it out about 25 feet, and only longer than that to try the troubleshooting steps. I turn off the water and drain the hose before attempting to wind. It’s such a great idea but I’m super disappointed that it didn’t last very long. I can still use it as a hose but winding it back up is a pain and it doesn’t go all the way back in.It’s past the return period but presumably still under warranty so maybe I can get some relief there. I want it to work. I love the idea of it and hate the execution.

It retracts very fast. Water pressure ok. Compact and easy to install.
