Absolutely GORGEOUS Rendition of Tyrannosaurus Rex.
First of all, absolutely beautiful figure. But, I have to mention a few things before I get on with the review. This figure does NOT feel like a toy. The sculptural details that cover the body are a bit sharp and the figure is VERY hard plastic. The paint also chips and rubs off quite easily, so I don't see this figure keeping its look through wear and tear. Another quick tip, friends who have owned this figure state that, over time, its legs will bend and will lead to the figure falling over. This has led me to keep the plastic that it first came with on the figure.Alright, first impressions, this figure is striking. A very complimentary color scheme and it all blends very well together, from finely sculpted details, to paint job, Doug Watson (sculptor and paint scheme) did a fantastic job with this one. The warm and fiery autumn color scheme looks brilliant, and whoever painted mine did a fantastic job to all parts of the body, especially the face. Red accentuates many areas of the body including the bony ridge that follows the snout of the skull and really brings attention to the eyes. The skull of the figure looks awesome. Compared side-by-side with a photo of a Tyrannosaurus skull, it looks quite accurate. Binocular vision is also an added bonus, as it did truly have this trait in reality. The teeth are fine, although some of them are not individual. The paint job on the teeth is a bit sloppy as well. This rendition also seems like it lacks a lip, with the teeth being flush with the maw. Moving downwards, the neck is covered in almost a mane of plumage, being brilliant in its burgundy and red accents. And finally, a figure that does justice to the actual size of a Tyrannosaurus Rex's tiny arms. In fact, they could even be smaller, although it would be difficult to do.This figure is large, measuring about 12.25" from tip of snout to end of tail, well in scale with other Tyrannosaurus Rexes on the market. It is also a well-fed creature, little to no "shrink-wrapping" all over the body, and seems to represent the new data on the bulkiness of the creature. The feet are also not too balanced, with my figure wobbling on even surfaces as I poke it. It is also a very front-heavy figure, so just keep in mind that it may not stand up over a long period of time.Overall AMAZING and a MUST-HAVE for any dinosaur enthusiast. Iconic for this point in time, and glad there is a mass-produced feathered rendition readily available.

Fantastic sculpt, beautiful paint job, a definite buy.
A definite buy for both the avid Dino collecter and the science minded kid! A little too bulky for young children, 5-8, but a real treasure for collectors old and young. The color is subtle but beautifully realized and really brings out the small details of the sculpt. The feathers look great and add a real sense of exoticism to the well know form of T-Rex.I will say that while the figure can stand on its own, it is a bit wobbly and can fall down if not carefully. Also it’s a little heavier than one would expect so again probably better for older collectors. All in All: if you want s feathered T-Rex for a reasonable price and exquisite detail, look no further.

Awesome figure!
I am an avid dinosaur figurine collector and this one is absolutely superb! If you're looking for a toy, this may not be the best as it doesn't move (ie: jaws, arms), but for a dino nut like myself, it's wonderful. The details are great and I love the coloring.

best tyrannosaurus now available
This is now my favorite Tyrannosaurus model, feathered or unfeathered. It's fantastic. I prefer it over the CollectA feather T. rex. The sculpt is gorgeous. The paintwork is much better than what I've seen with Safari in the past. The figure I bought stands fine just on its two feet -- this is not a "tripod" model propped up by its tail. But I did make a slight adjustment to the feet so it stands more firmly. (Soak the feet in near-boiling water, gently bent them into a better position, then dunk the figure in cold water. It works like a charm.) If you have an aversion to feathered dinosaurs, the Battat model available at Target is great (and cheap!), despite the fact that it's hard to get it stand at all.

Terrific Figure More for Display than Play
This figure has got to be one of the most paleontologically accurate on the market, certainly at this price point and it's spectacular. Detail and painting is outstanding. Certainly terrific for display on a shelf and educational purposes. Just know this is not a rubber toy for rough play. It appears to be made out of a harder resin material which will probably not survive a fall intact let alone titanic battles of the Mesozoic as evidenced by the first shipment we received with a broken toe (the figure regrettably is not packaged in a protective box, but only a heavy clear plastic bag with plastic shield around it's feet.) Amazon exchanged figure quickly and we now a beautiful figure on our shelf.
