Very good hands on practice for getting various azure practice + apache spark
I bought this book to study Apache Spark data engineering and was amazed at how much i learned doing real example problems through out the book. also... I got stuck on one of the section and after emailing him directly, he even went out to give me answers!!!!!! Highly recommend.

Great in depth book that is good for begginer and intermediate
Let me start by saying what I loved about this book. This book is very well formulated and articulated. It provides a lot of in depth knowledge into azure and data engineering. I found the explanations and diagrams to be very helpful in understanding concepts that may be hard to grasp. I like how there are pictures and walkthroughs of how to actually build a data pipeline. This book is very comprehensive in its breadth of knowledge covered. It can really be a great entry point for someone that is looking to pursue a career in the field or to someone that wants more knowledge of azure. I also really enjoyed the way the book introduced the concepts and history big data.My only issues with the book were that the quality of the pictures were not crisp so it made it a little hard on the eyes. I wished the paper was also of a higher quality and perhaps in color. Additionally a glossary with all important terms in the last section of the book for quick access to important terms would have been great. Altough these are all just minor issues that kept me from giving it a full 5 stars. In truth if you are just looking to learn for an affordable price, I don't think there is anything much better than this book. I personally like having a physical book rather than endlessly reading on the computer and this is perfect for me

best for beginners and midrange.
This book works a person thru from basic definitions to being fully functional with the tech stack. Don't expect miracles, but it will bring a student to the point of being competent. Shows how to get many free resources for training and practice. Great for any budding Data Engineer or those considering entry into cloud based data warehouses.

Literal Garbage
Skip it.this book is of next to no value. first, it’s exclusively focused on Azure, with no discussion of alternatives in the space. then, 90% of the book is a screenshot-based walkthrough of building a toy application. literal screenshots of which forms to fill out. unreadable.then, the actual thoughts and ideas the book presents are pretty weak. the central metaphors don’t make any sense—a pipeline is a car? roadblocks? wait, it’s a narrative? absurd.save your money and read a few blog posts. at least then you can copy and paste the examples instead of squinting at a low-res screenshot.i’ve already thrown this out, because it is literally garbage.

A book with outstanding explanation to data engineering
Data Engineering with Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Lakehouse introduces the concepts of data lake and data pipeline in a rather clear and analogous way. I have intensive experience with data science, but lack conceptual and hands-on knowledge in data engineering. This book really helps me grasp data engineering at an introductory level. I love how this book is structured into two main parts with the first part introducing the concepts such as what is a data lake, what is a data pipeline and how to create a data pipeline, and then with the second part demonstrating how everything we learn from the first part is employed with a real-world example. I greatly appreciate this structure which flows from conceptual to practical. I’d strongly recommend this book to everyone who wants to step into the area of data engineering, and to data engineers who want to brush up their conceptual understanding of their area. Awesome read!

Lakehouse concepts and Implementation with Databricks in AzureCloud
This book explains how to build a data pipeline from scratch (Batch & Streaming )and build the various layers to store data and transform data and aggregate using Databricks ie Bronze layer, Silver layer, Golden layerUsing the newly emerging concept of Delta Lake and Lakehouse is explained with extensive pieces of information and examples. The concepts of Apache Spark are used to transform and aggregate data are well-explained screenshots are provided to catch the flow.

Outdated and Useless
The book provides no discernible value. It is simplistic, and is basically a sales tool for Microsoft Azure. It claims to provide insight into Apache Spark and the Delta Lake, but in actuality it provides little to no insight. I basically "threw $30 away".

For Beginners
The title of this book is misleading. I was hoping for in-depth coverage of Spark’s features; however, this book focuses on the basics of data engineering using Azure services. It’s reasonable to assume that a book with Spark in the title should cover the original, code-first version of Spark with examples in Scala, PySpark, or SQL. The majority of the examples in this book; however, use Azure Data Factory. I wish both this book and Microsoft would focus more on code-first tools like Synapse Spark rather than GUI-first tools like Azure Data Factory. This is a decent book if you’re new to Azure data engineering. It provides a sampling of the various Azure services that you might want to use. If you’re an experienced data engineer; however, the first half of this book progresses very slowly and spends too much time on basic topics that you already know.
