Aquarian Tarot In a Tin

Truly wonderful cards
The artwork of this deck is absolutely beautiful and full of intricate details and profound symbolism. The general feeling it gives even in the “dark” cards is gentle and elegant. The cards are well made, just the right size, and shuffle like a dream. I also found the card stock to be of good quality and like that it comes in a tin can as well. The interpretation instructions are simple yet useful. This is definitely going to be my new main deck.

Lovely art
This is my 12th deck. I’d decided I needed a pocket size, travel deck. It’s perfect for that, the art is wonderful, and the deck, I’d say, is cold logic. Sometimes you need that.LOVE the tin. The pamphlet if you like to read meanings, is simple and straightforward. You may wish to consult online if you require deeper meanings, unless you’re used to tarot.

Graphics are a beautiful Art Deco style and identical to the original decks
Mini version of my larger size Aquarian deck that I purchased back in the 80s. I wanted these for my purse so my first set of cards (now a rare collector's item in their original box) aren't damaged or handled too much. Graphics are a beautiful Art Deco style and identical to the original decks. Colors are brighter on these, but I think my other deck is somewhat aged, so that may be why. Suggest getting the companion book 'Psychic Tarot' (available on Amazon) because it expands on the meaning of the cards in this specific deck more than the pamphlet (included with the cards) does. The book also explains a few different ways to do readings and goes into a little bit of numerology.I'm an Aquarius and these cards spoke to me the second I saw them. This will always be my go to deck and they have proven themselves to be extremely accurate in what they have to say.Highly recommend!!!

Beautiful, high quality
The photo doesn't do these justice. These cards are beautiful and I'm so happy they were reprinted. The figures have an intense intimacy that historic decks often don't.The cards are small, the size of playing cards. The card stock is strong enough for daily use. The tin is nice. The little white book, which is really a fold out, appears to match the original. It doesn't seem to be edited for today's language style. So these are suitable for the collector. Since the pattern is Rider-Waite, these cards would be an easy transition for a person who is starting to branch out from RW.

Beautiful quality cards
I’ve always loved this deck. The cards are sturdy, glossy and vivid. The tin box that you store them in will definitely hold up better than the cardboard boxes I am used to.

Beautiful Late 60s Graphics
My review will be a bit different from most as I am not a Tarot practitioner. I bought these strictly for the artwork, because I am a fan of pre-Photoshop handmade illustration. In particular, I love that odd blending of Art Nouveau, Art Deco and kitsch that seemed to be happening all the time in late 60s commercial art.Palladini's style here is comparable to Bob Pepper's or Heinz Edelmann's. There are lots of gentle washes, subdued colors, stylized outlines and floral references. This is in sympathy with the meditative nature of the Tarot. (Would you really want a garish Peter Max day-glo experience?) There is an occasional surrealist touch, particularly in the Cups suit. Much of the general iconography is based on the RWS deck, with the more disturbing designs toned down somewhat. (The Tower, the Devil, the Chariot, and Death are particularly muted). However, much of the Kabballah-like symbolism of the RWS deck has been removed. Palladini tends to prefer medium close-ups to full-length distance compositions, giving these cards a more personal feel than a distant diorama mood. The Fool and the Hermit, in particular, have a very different feel here due to the cropped composition than in the more famous full-length poses in the RWS deck. Many of these 'portraits' could be divorced from the Tarot context and reproduced in art books. While I get the sense that Palladini was aiming for a tasteful style that could stand alongside the graphic styles of the early 20th Century, much of the overall effect is right in the mainstream of late 60s illustration style.I'll bet for all the reasons I've listed, this was a very popular deck among urban folkies and the post-collegiate set until the late 1970s.On the downside, these are not standard sized Tarot cards. This particular printing has them shrunk to the size of regular playing cards. The price, however, has not shrunk. You are really paying for the keepsake metal storage tin.If you've got the cash to spare, however, and the art style appeals to you, I recommend this deck without hesitation.

Loooove!
I've had the larger, older version of the Aquarian Tarot for years and have always loved it. However, I started feeling as though I was causing too much wear & tear on the tuck box, so I wanted to get this version. Can't believe I didn't get this sooner, I love the tin box & card size for travel, highly recommend!

A handy travel version of my favorite deck
Since the Aquarian Tarot is my favorite deck, I wanted a travel size in its own container. The tin stays securely sealed and even though the cards are smaller than a regular deck, the detail are still clear, which was not the case with another deck I ordered in a tin where the images were so small, the details are barely visible. In any case, I find the card stock to be as good as the regular size deck and the printing bright and colorful.
