Well made, heavily waxed and attractive to the bees. Very reasonably priced.
I have several of these hives in my bee yard and have been very pleased with the quality and attention of detail of these units. All the components are heavily waxed, including the hive bodies, which has helped them stand up to the weather very well. The dovetail joints a very precisely cut and fit together very tightly. The hive bodies are predrilled with countersunk holes for the included screws. All foundations are also heavily coated with wax which seems to be attractive to the bees as I have not had a problem with swarms abandoning these hives. All in all, I have been very pleased with these and strongly recommend them to you. I believe you will also be happy with them.

Good place to start.
Nice fit of the pieces and actually fun to put together. Very convenient to have all the parts and it is all wax coated. I built a hive from scratch to make a different style of hive and it cost about the same amount as this kit!! I think the Mann Lake is a little better than the no name one and worth the few extra buck of cost.

Nice hive
This hive is well made, but gave them 4 stars because NOT worth the wax!! One rain and in the sun 1 week and it is all blotched and baked off. I think these are just dipped and not hot tank dipped. I will need to move my bees, heat these up, scrap off wax and somehow to seal. I will purchase their plain hives next time, for they are easy to assemble and well made!

Between the two
I bought two hive boxes. One 10 Fran and one eight. The eight Fran was better quality, but the ten Frame here went together easier. The 8 frame from the other was better cut. But this one was better covered with bees wax. For the price it was good! I busted the top on both. My drill was too much. Fits together well and a good price! My New NUC will love it

Nice bee hive at a very nice price.
Nice product, well engineered. Instructions are clear, plus because the mortice and tennon assembly uses sort of tapered wedge mortices, pieces only go together when you have them right. Do think Honey Lake should rethink the one top screw on each corner of the box as it is too easy to over- tighten and split the wood AND they might pre-drill the frames for the nails - if they wanted it to be perfect.Guessing, as the product was this sweetly engineered for this price, that Honey Lake had these hives made in China. But if so - nice job there in Shengzhou.

This is junk
This is the most ridiculous set I’ve ever seen. There isn’t any two pieces that fit together properly. The fact Amazon allows such pathetic merchandise to be sold is insulting. A small child could produce better quality work than this.

Excellent
Only thing I would change is the foundation. Out of the 7 hives I have only 2 will draw out plastic foundation. I would really like to get this hive with solid beeswax foundation
