Junk, don’t buy.
Leaked since I connected it. There is no O-Rings on the top of lid. Do yourself a favor and just buy a real Heyward.

This is the time to not buy a knock-off
Zero stars. It looked like a great deal. Installation was a breeze however little information on the thick prong that came with it and you couldn’t tell there was already a gasket in it. Anyhow I screw the lid on and it was. Spraying water all over. The lid shredded the oring so than I read some reviews and realized it already had one. I dug the shreds out and put lid on again and sure enough it shreds the second.Bought the original and installed in minutes…Lesson learned

Not a Hayward product.
This is not a Hayward product rather a cheap knock off piece of junk. Buy the real deal or get what you pay for.

Good replacement for the price…
It’s working good but is a bit noisy… Not that bad though… Hopefully it lasts some years… I’ll also change the O ring more often because the chlorine eats it up and that’s what makes the lid so hard to remove to add tabs…

It Leaks and Eats Chlrine Tablets
Bought this chlorinator to replace one damaged by a hard freeze during a power outage. Within one week of installing this replacement, it too leaked around the injection adjustment knob. The chlorinator eats chlorine tablet for lunch; even before lunch. Went thru a full load of 3in tablets in two days! A disaster all aroung.

It worked great!
When we started , we didn't realize that the gasket was already installed. So, when there was an extragasket we thought we needed to put it on. We tried so hard that we ruined the extra gasket. We went out and got another gasket and at that point we realized there was one already on it. When we put that lid on without the additional gasket it worked great. I think this might be the problem other users are reporting as leaking. It's now out there doing a great job for about 1/3 the price of the Hayward.

Thoughts compared to OEM cost and lifespan
Chlorinators don’t last long for me. Checking my purchase history my Hayward OEM lasted four seasons replacing lid Orings every year. Then the dual valve went bad. This one lasted 2 seasons before the dial valve didn’t work. I pulled the valve and the configuration and ORings look a little different than the Hayward so I would not try to replace the assembly with the OEM part. Also it broke removing it but that was probably partly my fault and also fatigued plastic. So I’m going back to the OEM for my replacement. At current prices it’s about 50% more expensive on Amazon. So twice as long life and available replacement parts for 50% more make the OEM a better value. But if you’re buying OEM in a store it’s more than double the price so the value prop might be there.
