87 IROC Front Springs
Worked great with modification. I had to cut the threaded rod 4 inches shorter because it was interfering with the cross member when spring was compressed. The tool fits through the stock control arm. I returned 2 other tools before setting for this one. The others did not fit this car or were not safe. I felt nervous doing this job but this tool seemed pretty stable and robust. Make sure to run a chain through the length of spring and through the lower arm to secure it in place in case the spring pops out during removal/ installation. You do not want that spring to fly into your body or across the room. Very dangerous.

Works on 1992 Camaro coil springs
This item is well made. Threaded shaft has thick acme style threads. Compressed the springs on 1992 Camaro to 10 inches. The spring coils are just over 5/8" thick.

This is smaller than I expected, haven't used it yet so will see how it works in the future.

Does it's job
It's tricky to get in position, but once you accomplish that, it works as stated. I used it on 3/4 ton truck, was a little small for that job. But like I said, it worked and the price was good.

As safe as a spring compressor can be
Like a lot of people have commented, the shaft is a bit long. Being universal and all. Didn't want to cut it as some people have. Purchased a couple nuts to lock together (5/8"-10 acme) to shorten it to the length I needed and it worked like a charm.

SAFER THAN STANDARD DESIGN
With dual pair of hooks on either side it took less effort and time to compression the spring. Way safer than the local auto store version which uses only 1 pair of hooks. The only downside is the middle rod was too long and protruded too much get in way of spring seating flush against frame of my truck.
