It works GREAT
This device converts a four wire thermostat cable to an equivalent FIVE wire cable for use in Honeywell Smart WiFi thermostats which have a K terminal. Older systems used four wires Green(fan relay), Yellow(compressor relay)White (heat relay) and Red(24VAC). The new thermostats require both sides of the 24VAC. IE Red 24VAC and Blue common 24VAC.The conversation device is to be placed at the air handler unit between the four wire cable leading to the thermostat and the thermostat connections at the air handler. The instructions are excellent and if followed to the letter your new Honeywell thermostat will work perfectly using a four wire control cable.Being an electrical engineer I had to test the device; therefore, I set up a test system using three 24VAC relays. In the first photo the fan simulation relay shows ON, when the fan is set on. In the second photo both the fan and compressor simulation relays shown ON when the thermostat is calling for air conditioning. In the third photo the heat simulation relays shows ON when the thermostat is calling for heat.Great device and is slightly cheaper than the Honeywell unit.UPDATE. I installed the device today, experienced absolutely no problems (which I expected since I had tested it earlier). Extremely pleased.

Product blew fuse in furnace after installation per manufacturer requirements. Unfortunately it was after return deadline so I'm stuck with a pile of garbage.

Easy to install
Directions included were easy to follow.

Not for older boilers
Boiler had T1/2 and X1/2 connection that this didn't have configuration for. Had to buy a c-wire adapter instead.

Does the job
I was a bit skeptical about purchasing this vs the Honeywell system but figured the savings was worth the risk. Upgraded to a Sensi smart thermostat and did not have the C wire or a spare wire going from the furnace to the thermostat. Followed the directions included and got this installed and without any problems. Very happy with it as long as it lasts
