Apricorn Aegis Secure Key is a headache
If you would like to securely carry your data around then a hardware encrypted usb flash drive is a very attractive option on paper. Apricorn Aegis Secure Key is good on paper. But in its implementation it is a pure headache and outright scary. After setting it up properly the drive took 2 to 3 attempts before it was unlocked. Sometimes the blinking lights showed that everything was going in the right direction and then suddenly the drive locked itself. If you carry your sensitive data oceans away and cannot access the data then it is of no use to you. This difficulty with unlocking the drive scared me enough that I returned it and did not even think about getting another copy of the same drive.When I was able to unlock and use the drive, I noticed that the drive gets pretty hot.
