Works great
Delivered quick, installed and works great. Keeps the entire garage hot and sometimes we need to take out coats off if we are in the garage. It is well below zero and this keeps up with a 2 large two car garage. My gas bill did go up but it sure beats the propane tanks and smell.

Great Value And Well Constructed
I bought this heater mostly because Northern Tool had them on sale at a great price with free shipping. So yeah, I'm cheap. I like a bargain. I was pleasantly surprised when the heater arrived and I saw the quality of the overall construction. I was afraid with a cheap price I would receive a cheap heater. I am however beyond happy with it. It is a great product and is built like a tank. ( Which is a good thing... read the last part of my review.) The installation was painless and easy and I converted the unit to Propane from the original Natural gas. The propane kit was easy to install with clear and concise instructions on how to do the conversion. This heater is heating a 24 X 36 shop with R-13 insulation and twelve foot ceiling height. So far it has not shown itself to be a gas hog like others have described it. It has been down to ten degrees at night and the heater maintained the forty degree setting with ease and not much fuel use.The only issue I had was with the shipper and not the product or with Northern Tool. I hate pointing fingers but the shipper had beat my heater up to the point where it looked like it had been delivered by airplane and dropped from about a thousand feet! It is a good thing the heater is constructed as well as it is because otherwise it would have been useless! It is a real testimony of how well the unit is constructed because I was able to make repairs and straighten all of the damage. Then after a close inspection of the vital components we fired it up. So far I highly recommend this product and the Mr. Heater brand.

Keep in mind the cost to install - but still great value!
This is great value for money. Service was next to none.Keep in mind you will need to pay for a vent whether it is horizontal or vertical. Allow $300 approx for this. You may also need professionally installation as this unit requires connection to a propane tank (recommend at least 120 gal) and a regulator cost. With tank lease, regulator, 2 men to install, gas line, proper gas fittings all up $950.So the whole investment approx $2k. You could save by having the unit fitted in place with help, but you best be sure of the codes ie distance from walls, roof, floor etc etc because if this baby ignites your garage and burns to the ground and it wasn’t fitted to code and proves it was the cause - then - need I say more. The unit was fitted initially and vibrated horribly due to a bent fan blade damaged in transit. Picked up the phone and the supplier had a replacement sent in 3 days. Unfortunately, they sent the wrong one. However, 2 days later via FedEx the right one was sent. Fitted and works like a new one should. Some say it’s noisy but I can’t say it is. I can say it belts out some heat and so far economically. I will up date this when I’ve been through a cold season.Dec 2022 Update: fitted a nest thermostat and have this running at 56F whilst outside sun 30’s. I use around a gallon a day so out of a 120 gallon tank this thing keeps my shop cost for around 2-3 months. Around $300 a tank refill at current prices this beast is both economic and simply keeps me toasty and in my shop a hell of a lot. I’m a happy chappy!

Works well when it works
This is my second Mr Heater, I have a 50 btu unit as well. The 50k worked for 3 weeks before it stopped working and this one worked for about 1 minute. I fired it up and it worked perfectly. T'he next day the fan would not kick on. Have already been on the phone on hold for about 45 min before leaving a call back number. They will call back, ask me some questions, then say they are sending out a new circuit board, which is what my other one needed also. I'm being generous by giving them a 3 star review, but i'm keeping in mind the cost of the unit which is a really good value. I really like the heater, I just don't know if i can depend on it. Every time i've been on hold with them the recording says they are receiving unusually heavy call volume. Since they clearly know they are selling an unreliable product, it would be nice if they would hire more service tech advisors. I probably spent 3-4 hours with my other heater between time on hold, diagnostic time and actually replacing the circuit board. If you don't like working on stuff you might want to look at a different brand. If you do decide to purchase one just plan on doing your own diagnostics and repairs.Update 1/29/2020- Have been on the phone 3 times doing diagnostics on this heater. It is working but the problem now is that it cycles on and off about every 30 seconds to 2 minutes. I have been asked to checked the voltages in and out of the circuit board and check the pressures sn column of water. The last guy had me disconnect the pressue switch and bypass it. The heater ran for several minutes while he stayed on the phone so he sent me out a new switch. I installed it and it is still cycling. Back on the phone for the long hold and unusual call volume. They called back after a couple of hours and said they were sending me a new control board.3/25/2020 Installed new control board. Heater still cycles on and off. I'm not getting back on the phone with this company again. Still heats my shop, just not nearly as efficiently as it should. Not very happy overall. Paid new price for a brand new heater and Ive wasted hours of my time for something that has never worked properly and never will.

Heats a Four Car Garage
This heater has been more effective than I anticipated. The installation wasn’t bad (I did it all by myself) and I had it up and running in three days. Two of those days were running the thermostat and ventilation pipe. I had contacted a couple heating companies prior to this purchase and they all wanted to charge me $1800 for a similar unit. Great buy!
