If you are looking for a hot, spicy Italian crushed red pepper for your pizza, pasta, stuffed peppers, etc. this is it. It has a nice fruity flavor with real heat. I'm Italian - American from Brooklyn and I know the real stuff when I taste it. This is it. By the way, there is another Calabrian crushed red pepper on sale from Amazon (sorry, but I threw out the package so I don't remember the name) that only has moderate heat, say a 3 on a 1 - 10 scale (10 being the hottest) that I also like very much, as does my wife. This pepper is very fruity and adds just a little heat and is perfect if you don't like things real hot. It's a good product too. By the way, if you want authentic pepperoncini, BUY ITALIAN. Look where the product is from. If it's from China, fuhgeddaboutit.

Being a Third Generation Italian, I have always been interested in products from the region. Came across these after a search for Italian Peppers I had seen on Cooking Shows. The price was right for this Large nearly 9oz jar(3x3x5.5H). They have the great flavor one would expect and heat similar to a Cayenne or Arbol chili. After trying this you'll never go back to the standard Grocery Store Variety. These are far fresher tasting. The flakes are much bigger so you might want to have a way to grind them a bit. I used my Majic Bullet and ended up with results that not only impressed me, but one that any Pizzeria or Italian Restaurant would be proud to have on their tables. Great for making Hot Italian Sausage and Sauces, Mexican dishes, and even Asian dishes. I will definitely be purchasing again when needed.

I have been trying to reorder science I purchased my last jar 5 months ago ,it is available again and is just as I received last time.

Great product! Only problem, the package needs to be available in a smaller size.

I used "regular" crushed red pepper before and then saw this on some cooking videos. The Calabrian pepper has such a bright flavor with slightly less heat than normal store-bought crushed red pepper. I have totally switched. It has a bright fruitiness, pleasant heat level without being overly hot. I highly recommend.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this red pepper in June and saw a live fly come out today while shaking it out on some food. Upon closer inspection, the product is crawling with flies and maggots / larvae. See the video I uploaded.I'm absolutely disgusted that I've been eating this and serving it to my family, including my toddler, for several weeks. The product is clearly not processed properly and ships with insects/eggs/larvae, making it unfit for consumption. To make matters worse, I was on the phone with Amazon customer support for 45 minutes before they agreed to credit me the $14 I paid for it because the product was "outside the 30-day return window." I'll now have to throw out about $50 of food I cooked with it today, and try to forget about the weeks I've spent eating it and serving it to my family.Stay clear of this product. I wish I saw some of the negative reviews before ordering, as this apparently has been an issue for some time.
