Adds a slight tangy flavor to white rice.
I have used this for many years on short grain Japanese white rice. Just a lite sprinkling is all that's needed.

Definitely an acquired taste
This is very popular and classic seasoning in Japan everyone is familiar with and loves. In fact, I think even the package has not changed since my childhood. You can be as creative as you can be with this and there are tons of ideas and recipes on the website, though most of those may be in Japanese. I like the classic way – just mixing with steamed short-grain (sushi grade) rice or brown rice. For those who never had this before, you might want to try it in a small package, instead of buying in bulk. It has very unique taste and flavor and you will just have to try it yourself to see if you like it or not.

Perfect!
Love it on rice! Perfectly balanced. Not too sour or salty. It is also a beautiful garnish which adds subtle flavor to side dishes. Limitless possibilities.

Enhance flavor on rice, vegetables etc.
I love this product! They use red perilla leaves so that yukari rice seasoning has more sour-plum-pickles-like flavor. But, while sour-plum sometimes tries to attack our taste buds for being super sour, yukari rice seasoning has a milder sour level with rich herby flavor. Just a spoonful of seasoning can enhance the flavor and this is why people fell in love with yukari! This is supposed to be "rice seasoning," but I use them to dress my vegetables and they are just amazing!Pro:Enhance flavor on rice, vegetables etc. Easier access compared with other rice seasoning flavors both in local Asian grocery and online.Con:Gotta be careful with how much you put, since it’s high in salt. Contains MSG. Pricy online.

Price was doubled :(
I love this product and have been bought it for a long time, however the price was doubled recently. I used to pay it between $20-$25 in the past. What’s going on?!

Dig it
It's from Japan & hard to find & more expensive in local Asian markets. Wish they'd make a bigger size instead of the individual packets. Recommend!
