GREAT for waterfall pumps that are sensitive to quick power cycling.
Our HOA has a large water feature that uses a 5hp pump which is VERY sensitive to quick power cycling and this unit works great at preventing the pump from seeing a fast on/off/on cycling of the power. Before installing this we lost pump after pump when the power would go out for sometimes less than a second and then return just a quickly. Delaying the restart until things have settled down for 5 minutes totally fixed the issue. Oh, yeah, about that blue water ... our landscapers got carried away one day and inadvertently turned the waterfalls into a giant "Tidy Bowl" experiment.

Must have for those sudden on off in power
Easy do it yourself install… will end up saving your compressor if you’re in an area where once or twice a year the power goes off and comes back on immediately.

Good Deal
Perfect for delaying Air Cond. Compressor from starting at same time as 3/4 hp Blower Motor. Most generators can barely start a 1/3hp motor. Try EasyStart by Microair changes everthing!

Does not work for my application
First, I am not a professional, just a DIY'er. I already had a 24 V red hot line lead through a condenser overflow pipe cutoff switch so I connected the delay timer in series with that. After installing, cutting power, then turning on power (to reset the delay timer) I checked the hot line at the thermostat (SimpleComfort 3010L) and the delay timer (after the time I set) was feeding power to the thermostat. However, the thermostat itself had no display as if it were off. Tried turning on/off and no response. Removed delay timer and everything went back to working normally (so at least I did not break anything!!). The only thing I can think of is that the delay timer was using some power itself, then causing a slight voltage drop, and then the thermostat must need EXACTLY 24 V to work??? So maybe it was just my setup and maybe a different thermostat would have worked. I was not able to test if the delay timer would respond to a millisecond power drop from the power company which several times has caused my compressor to stop and restart instantly with a loud metallic noise until turned off - the reason I wanted the delay timer as my thermostat must not be sensitive enough to a millisecond power interruption.

Very useful
Purchased to compliment a dual-relay setup I built to prevent both our A/C's from running at the same time while on a whole-house generator. (It was possible for both to try to start, if requested, immediately upon building power being supplied.) This is cheaper and nicer than I can build ;-) and works as advertised. I'd prefer an adjustment with a shorter max delay, since I only need 30 seconds, but this is still a good deal.
