BEST INVENTION FOR RECORDING AND PLAYING - VHS PLAYER & TAPES.
Great tapes. I still use VHS, DVDs are NO GOOD. The device don't last long, bought 3. They stop playing and recording. A fake on the market to get rid of VHS, which is the best ever created. Records 3-2 hr. movies, can record up to 7 hrs on a 6 hr. tape. Just love, Never even thought to give it up for DVD, I bought a COMBO, and used both. DVD died long time ago, I used the VHS and buy the tapes to keep me going.A Happy recorder. The industry tricks us into giving up our good stuff for cheap stuff to make more money. They new that the DVDs were no good and you would have to keep buying them over and over...their profit on you buying them over and over. I stopped. You ought to pull out that old recorder you had that is still good and buy some tapes and start using it again.

Good Bargain...
Currently I'm moving some family memories from older VHS tapes to DVD-Ram and ripping them to a digital format on my PC. Since these are important memories, I want to have as many backups as possible so rerecording them back onto 'fresh' VHS tapes is something important to me. Comparing these tapes to local price, the price here on Amazon is very competitive. After recording older footage onto these VHS tapes, I'm quite satisfied with the quality of these tapes on the SP record setting. Not much has changed in the VHS tape since it has become such a dinosaur, but it's great to be able to get this product when you need it, for a reasonable price.

just blank tapes, cost lots more than they use back in the good old days
idk why they quit selling blank tapes at stores like Walgreens,Walmart and Target..now you have to buy online and they cost 3 times or so more than they use to,when you could buy at stores !!! GUESS I AM GLAD THEY STILL SELL THEM AT ALL,Since everything is on DVR DVD or Stream from Computer, but i still LOVE recording,i am old school.,and i HATE DVR !!!! They don't hold much and you can not keep recording things on DVR 4EVER and i like KEEPING TV SHOWS,So when they stop showing my favorite tv shows on tv,i still have them to watch and enjoy,i got sooo many good old tv shows, they never ever show anymore at all on tv and i am so glad i recorded them, shows people forgot or never heard of,that i think are way waaay better than most trv shows on now days and much funnier !!!! Great Memories of the good ol' 70's !!!!and i don't mean crappy shows like Mash,i dream of jeannie, bewitched, brady bunch and threes company..you can still see those wore out boring shows anytime on tv still,i am talking about good old comedies they dont show much, like Hardcastle and MCCORMICK,Jimmy Stewart show,Doris Day show,CPO Sharkey,Johnny Bago,Charlie Hoover,Ghost and Mrs Muir Danger Team..and many many more !!!! My list goes on 4ever of good old tv shows,i miss seeing, that they NEVER show on tv anymore ,not even the classic channels like Cozi Antenna tv and MeTV and other channels

Very Good Quality!
The tapes are very good quality, they run smoothly, don't get jammed or stuck, I'm quite happy to be able to get Maxell vhs tapes in this day and age, these are just like the ones I used way back in the day.

Still Have An Old VCR That Works?
If you have an old VCR that still works and you enjoy taping your TV shows you now know how hard it is to find tapes. This will more than likely become even harder. We located these on Amazon. They are a great buy and are becoming very difficult to find. These Maxwell takes are of very good quality and the prices if fantastic.

You get what you pay for
Well the price was really good for the 4 pack of Maxell VHS tapes that I purchased but the quality of the recordings after 2 or 3 times was awful. Whatever I recorded- the audio was fine but the picture just kept rolling. If you put the VCR on pause and then hit play it plays ok for a few seconds and then it starts rolling all over again. When I try to rewind the tapes 2 of the 4 tapes stop rewinding and shut the VCR off. When I turn the VCR back on, the tape pops out and I have to go over to the set and push the tape back in and hit rewind again. It takes about 3 or 4 times of doing this to get back to the beginning of the tape. VERY annoying. It's not the VCR as I have tried it in a couple of different machines with the same results. I guess the old saying is true that you get what you pay for. I'll go back to the high grade VHS tapes when I place another order and see if they are any better.
