OMG IT WORKS
It totally works, I was so worried with the reviews but this thing is awesome. I opened Stepmania and setup the controls (as easy as selecting the name of the button then step on the pad) and then it was ready to rumble. I downloaded DDR 3RD MIX songs and I play on Easy and Medium modes and didn't have an issue with the pad sliding around on my hardwood engineered floors. Dynamite Rave is scored a 5 and it did move a little on the corner to corner jumps, so if you go crazy on this thing and do hard levels then you'll for sure need a rug antislip or something underneath. I'm still gonna get something even tho it barely moves just for accuracy. All in all, 10 out of 10, super stoked!! I'm 12 again! Haha.

Stops working almost immediately
After a few days of use, two of the sensors (down and up for me) stopped responding to half of the presses. Thing didn't even last a week.

Nostalgia galor!
Bought this to play some of the old DDR games with my kids. What a hit! Easy to set up and fun for the whole family. Lost one star because it is a little slippery and loose, but very functional.

Best softpad I've used thus far!
I've recently purchased 2 DDR Foam pads both 80 bucks each... they both broke after 1.5 months.besides not lasting long in comparison I'm seeing even when they weren't fully broken they were no where as sensitive as they should have been. This pad is super sensitive and it seems to work perfect out of the box and on day 2 as well... in fact I just got AA scores on 2 different songs for the first time ever!!It even has a programmable button in the center (Which the other pads I bought did not)The usb cord isn't too long and the dock where the cord sits looks like it can be pulled out very easily (Be careful)It's very nice how they give you a copy of stepmania, I'm just gonna give it away but its appreciated.Sidenote: The instructions for pad use are in English but not the best English so I'm sure one of us would have no problem revising it for themIf you have the ability to get hardcut foam or any flatboards you can to put underneath the pad will honestly make it that much better.I have 2 layers of foampads underneath mine atm and it feels almost as good playing on a cabAlso this is one of the cheaper pads out there and its worth the price, I'm 250 ish lbs and play on heavy and trust me this is a good pad as long as you can tape it down etc.I'm actually gonna order a 2nd pad right now so I can try doubles again

Great for getting into DDR but not gonna last forever.
This is a great pad if you want to get into ddr but not for competitive play. ended up killing it after 6 months because i got decent at the game. so dont expect it to last forever but if you want to get into ddr (and you most certainly do) then you cant complain for the price.

Not for the faint of heart
This is a great pad if you use it right and have the right software. If you just want to get your kids dancing on Stepmania or Etterna this will work. Once you proceed to intermediate play I suggest taking 1/2" or thicker plywood, tracing the pad, and cutting it out with a jigsaw. Then use double sided carpet tape to tape down the pad and duct tape around the outside edge. All told this should only cost about $50 but massively improves the quality of these pads.

Defective out of the box, D-pad Sensors misplaced
The sensors for the D-pad are misplaced withing the mat. The shape buttons dont work at all, down doesn't work and there's not supposed to be a button in the sensor but it scrolls when you're on it.
