I Bought this particular pump in 2023 as a backup to the 2nd Hayward that I had purchased. We are just opening the pool for the 5th season, installed this 3 weeks ago and it will only work on high, low is now locked up. If you buy a Hayward make sure you purchase the 3 yr warranty coverage because you will surely need it. For the money you would think they would last longer. 5 years = 3 Hayward pumps. I learned my lesson, no more.

I replaced my previous 1.5HP after 13 years , And with 13 years of no issues I replaced with the exact same model. Hayward W3SP1593 PowerFlo Matrix. There are very few vertical discharge pumps still on the market . And with the hard plumbing lines this was truly plug and play. Besides it does not make sense for GPM flow rate to plumb the water lines up and down again, each turn slows the flow down.I made the switch because the 13 year old Hayward pump's bearings were starting to sing a heavy metal screech. It may have lasted a couple more seasons. This pump outlasted my previous above ground pool.Considering I was using this not only during summer swim season, I would also run it during the winter to keep the pool lines from freezing on my current above ground pool ( pump and pool are 90% below grade. ) This winter it handled temps that went as low as -4 . Note: Don't try this on an above ground pool that is on / above grade.

Item got here fast. Thankful for that. Our old Hayward pool pump we bought in 2013 quit working. Spend way more money on this one, so hoping it will last as long . It makes a lot of noise. Not sure why that is. Overal it was a pleasant transaction. Time will tell.

I recently went from the two speed Power flow max to this when our pump died. This is more than $100 less than the two speed. I need 1.5HP to run our heater. Since we barely use 'low' from the old pump I tried this. Just as powerful and extremely quiet. I did have to replace the cord since a 3ft comes attached. Just make sure your power source is close to the pump. If replacing the cord match the gauge or you lose power and decrease the life of the pump.

I love that it is self contained pump & motor, would buy again--hopefully last 5 years.. Delivery UPS box damaged and had small broken part on the first one. The Seller sent me a new one right away. It would have been pretty much plug and play, but no PVC connectors (Parts/pieces) came with pump. This pump has 1.5 inch connections with (Note: SMALL THREADS) and wouldn't work with my existing PVC connections. Had to purchase all new stuff and redo all PVC piping. I got the parts from pool, plumbing and automotive store. The hardest part to find was O-Rings.
