Needed for Class
The book arrived on time, in great shape, excellent condition for a used book, but also affordable price. If you plan to get this new, or seeking an older edition if required the newest 10th edition. See if you can get this edition instead. If you need this for class or attending college, this was the most recommended if the price is steep for the new one. But always check with your professor/teacher.Now regarding the book itself. This was extremely informative on a wide variety of topics. Now without spoiling, some may find that this book or the author favors more than than the other. Before judging, please understand that this book is about learning Intercultural Communication, and the biggest topic right now is often that of current interest. It may have some concerning topics that may be uncomfortable for you. Especially in the race, religion, and or gender. So before thinking about getting this book, review the sample to get an idea of what to expect and or prepare to discuss in class.Other than that, if you are also a self-learner, this could be part of your collection of textbooks to use as a reference. It's easier to understand and I've learned a lot so far and made me think about a lot of encounters I've experienced in life that now made a lot of sense to me. But be prepared to learn.

Best Cross Cultural Communication book I've read
This book describes the effect of culture on sensing, perception, selection, organization, and interpretation. I also learned that cross cultural communication as a field has a lot of statistical information that allowed one to see the ratings the countries had on various characteristics. The information that I found in the book was arranged in such a way that I could read a page or two each day and still learn something new or interesting. I also liked the information I found near the end of the book on the four types of marriages: traditional, independent, separate, and mixed.Overall, this book is a good read! I highly recommend it.

Informative and Knowledgeable
I had to have this book for my college class. I found that this is a great book to learn about the subject since it has so much information, pictures, examples and stories that help you understand more about other cultures and ethnics. It is so informative about all the cultures out there, weather it be one that you hear about everyday or ones that you never heard of before. Such great information to have especially if you plan on traveling around the world - having the knowledge when traveling could save you from insulting someone!Obviously cultures are always changing and new ones are being created - therefore its always a good idea to keep updating the books and getting the newest information out there.

Really Great Textbook
This was the required text for my Intercultural Communications class. The material is very informative and the examples that were provided were very well put. It wasn't a drag to read the chapters unlike other textbooks I have read in the past.
