720P Global Shutter Monochrome USB Camera Module OV9281 Sensor with 95 Degree Non-Distortion Lens, Support 1280x720@120fps, UVC Compliant, Support Most OS, Focus Adjustable, P/N: UC10MPC_ND

I am using this camera with a Raspbery pi (as vision processor) to look for April Tags adn eveluate their "pose" ( distance and 3 axis angular atittude. April Tag is like a low res QR code. The application is solving for the location of a robot in an area where there are several April tags at known locations.I chose global shutter because I wanted minimal distortion of the image due to motion artifact that occurs with the use of a progressive shutter.I chose monochrome becasue It lets in 3x as much light as a color camera that rejects energy from 2 out of 3 colors on each pixel. This improves the signal to noise ration of the image and allows shorter exposure time which reduces motion blur. This allows for Tag images to be recognized under higher dynamic motion conditions.I chose 720p becasue for the same size imager chip, the pixels are 2.25x larger capturiin 2.25x more light. This allows exposure times to be 2.25x shorter reducing motion blur.In summary the monochrome combined with 720P choice allow ~ 3 x 2.25 = 6.75 x shorter exposure times.In actualy use, the camera was easy to use (automatically recognised by OS) running the same vision software in both Windows as well as Linux.

For the price, this thing is a monster. 120FPS at good resolution with a relatively tiny form factor. Additionally, customer service was fantastic. When I had some configuration issues, Spinel sent me some new firmware + installer within minutes. It can get a bit toasty so I recommend a heatsink.
