Rock Painting For Beginners: Simple Step-by-Step Techniques

Oh how I wish I were an artist...but I'm not. I draw stick people. This book will change that! Great explanation of tools and mediums, easy but lessons in using these mediums and a way to apply these mediums to other projects. (Not just rocks.) Instructions are supplied for transfers, stencils, decoupage, stamping and tattoos!!! (AND MORE!!) I really didn't want to complete this book! Like a good novel or a good movie, you wish it would go on and on!! I am so happy to have this confidence builder and to learn some valuable things about art in an easy way. It's a great investment for 130+ pages and I am SO happy I bought this book!! I hope you will enjoy it too!

I just finished reading through this book. It's a fast read & has a lot of ideas I'm going to implement in my new rock painting adventure.

The book is somewhat more simple than others or that I thought it would be. However, it has some cool ideas like stencils and decoupage that are genuinely helpful. I hope to try the stamping. The one thing it is missing is step by step directions for a lot of complex illustrations that other books have. This book works better as a supplement to more comprehensive rock drawing books. I am happy that it touches on mandala painting since that is an important aspect of rock painting. It feels as if it is better for children than adults. It is a good starter but be sure to buy some harder books later.

I think people worry their children are not getting enough math or reading without school in. In these ares, the more you read the better you read. Some younger kids like Sweet Valley Twins or Goosebumps. Let them enjoy these non classics. They are reading. Math, every student NEED TO KNOW basic math Multiplication facts. You will be surprised at how poorly they might do. Have a sheet of 100 problems and give two minutes in a timer. Whoa. Counting isn’t way to go these must be memorized and automatic. Get a few varied ones. Give a test everyday. Learn tricks like 56=78Helps with that what is 7x8?Learn 9s 9x2 = 18. 9x3=27 9x6=54. Look see. The answer is always the first # is 1 less than multiplier, factor. 2nd the 2 digit answer always adds up to nine. Let’s do 9x7=n.So what is 1 less than 7, thats 6 so 6 is first part of answer. Now 6+ what = 9. 6 + 3 = 9 9x 3= 27.Play cards etc. get to know those facts below 2 minutes.Now rock panting, crafts of any sort are a great way to continue with thinking, creativity, and personal achievement. It’s not just playing.

I am not or never have been "crafty"and am usually intimidated by craft instructions, but this book explains very clearly the "how to" and even shows the tools you will need. It is colorful and easy to read. Many great photos are included. The book is divided into sections which makes it handy for reference and review. I love how the author encourages just having fun with the rocks. This is a great "how to" for your library.

Save yourself the $$ and look on Pinterest. There wasn’t much instruction or specific detail. My daughter, who I bought it for, told me it was a pretty book, but useless to her.

This book more than met my expectations! I am a rank amateur with zero talent but wanted very much to join the rock painting kindness project and this book has allowed me to do so. It is very easy to understand and apply the techniques no matter your age. (I am 70 and extremely artistically challenged). I highly recommend this easy to understand guide for rock painting as it has given me many hours of pleasure and happiness painting kindness rocks.Anna LeVin

This short and easy to read book has all the information you need to get started with this fun, creative, and relaxing hobby. Lots of great tips and tricks. I was happily surprised to even find a primer for sharing your rocks on social media!

I’m halfway through and really enjoying this book. I’m new and this is my 4th book. I love it for the information and tips that are clear and interesting and I might not have thought to do. If you are a fine artist the designs might be simplistic, albeit pretty but novices and experienced Rock painting hobbiests will get lots out of this and refer to it often.

1st ever attempt at rock painting, who knew a few pebbles from the back garden could turn out like this, admittedly these were done free hand but the book gave me the ideas. I love this book, it covers a lot of ideas that I can’t wait to try. Brilliant for the beginner, I would so recommend it

Only books no rocks, But the pictures are very beautiful.

I love this book. It has given me much confidence to try my own rock painting. The instructions are easy to follow and the step by step pictures are great. Such a lovely book for everyone.

I liked this book and will learn from it.
