Great adjustability for weight
No, House should be without this if somebody living there has difficulty getting out of chairs. This is a wonderful item that can be adjusted to the weight of the individual. Works great!

Beware, this can throw you on the floor!!
I bought this to help post-surgically.I had surgery for an umbilical hernia plus adhesions from a prior surgery, and was initially very happy with the purchase.But I made a very bad mistake. Not thinking, I bent over in my chair to pick up my robot vacuum, to clean out the tray, and because of my movement, the lift mechanism engaged. Because I was already leaning over, it dumped me onto the floor. I was totally stuck, and couldn’t get up…this was one week post surgery. I don’t have family close by, but fortunately have a friend who has a key to my apartment, and knows how to lift people. He was able to come & help me…otherwise I would’ve had to call our emergency maintenance number to have them unlock my apartment, and call the fire department to help get me up off the floor. I was unhurt, but helpless.I haven’t used it since, and I’m past the return date, now.So if you *do* purchase one, be VERY, VERY, VERY careful with it!!!I would *NOT* recommend this.PS I was unable to return this in the timeframe allowed, otherwise I would have.

Broken seat lifter
It was very useful but the bottom or base should be made of metal. Mine broke.

Nice for bad knees.
I think this is great, I have knee problems and this gives me the boost I need to get that upward momentum I need to get out of my wheel chair and my seat at home (I own 2 of these). The only problem I have found so far is the cover doesn't seem to hold up very well.

This is very effective lifting without the need for electricity
I had knee replacement surgery and needed help getting out of my chairs that were just a bit too low to get out of on my own. This lift provides a comfortable assist as you lean forward to get up from the chair. Great investment.

We love this!
It does need something under it. I used card board, from the box it came in. One piece under it and one piece on the low back portion so it doesn't damage the upholstery. VERY HELPFUL!

Not helpful
I got this for my 89 year old mom who has a lot of trouble getting out of chairs. I tried it out and it didn't work well to assist me with rising from a chair. I got the bigger one, thinking it would be better, but I didn't realize it should be purchased according to the person's weight. It is not recommended for use in a chair with wheels or a soft surface like a sofa. Since these are the type of seating that she uses, this will not work for her and I will be returning it.

Wow!!!!!!!
I'm 75 and struggling with frailty. Need help to stand from every chair in my house but this absolutely works. Easy set up and it freaking WORKS. Can get up unassisted
