Perfect solution for pets.
Perfect solution for my cats going swimming. I have automatic opening toilet seats, the cats would push them open and play with the water, leaving wet cat hair on the seat. These work perfectly. We’re easy to install an easy to use.

Product work as advertised
The product has helped baby proof the toilet seats. The only add on I would like to have seen is an arrow to show rotation. I wrote it in sharpie. Took less than 2 minute to install. Everything is a strong adhesive strip that is meant to be removed after use. Fit is slim and doesn’t restrict the lid from opening. The unit is stout enough to handle abuse from our toddlers.

Great product if installed properly
So I've read some of the positive and negative reviews here and watched a video. We installed two, one on an elongated bowl Kohler toilet and one on a standard round-bowl toilet. We had them in place for 2.5 years--my daughter is now four and although I've not locked them in over a year, her new hobby is to lock the seat and that gives me a shock at 4:30AM so now I've got to remove them.In order for it to work, you have to have your toilet seat installed properly with no give or wiggle. If your seat slides around, it won't work at all. If you have a cheap toilet seat that can bend, it won't work either. I think with certain toilet designs it is harder to use, but I got it to work just fine on two very different toilets. The trick is to do proper surface prep--I cleaned the area well with isopropyl alcohol and allowed it to dry before I attached the lock--and to plan your placement very carefully.I didn't have to use the "catcher" at all on my tank; indeed, it didn't come with my set. But I suspect if your tank is tapered down at the base, this product may not work as well for you.

Works on our 13 month old
Works great so far! We've installed these on the toilets in our home and our 13 month old has yet to get past them (although they don't help keep her out when you're USING the toilet lol). We installed the catch on the first one and skipped it on the second one - we've kept it just in case we're turn out to be wrong but it doesn't seem like the catch piece is really necessary for it to work at all.

Effective But With Drawbacks - Probably Didn't Need
Overall Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3 out of 5 stars)Functional Safety Device: The Toilet Locks Baby Proof set certainly does what it's designed to do. It effectively keeps the toilet lid locked, preventing my curious toddler from accessing it. For parents concerned about toilet safety, it provides a straightforward solution.Questioning the Necessity: While the locks work as intended, I can't help but feel that the need for such a device is a bit overemphasized. With proper supervision and by keeping bathroom doors closed, the likelihood of a child getting into the toilet seems quite low. It made me question whether the purchase was driven more by fear than by a genuine necessity.Adhesive Issues: A significant downside is the adhesive quality. When I needed to remove one of the locks, it damaged the toilet seat by ripping off the finish. This damage was frustrating and led to an unexpected cost for repair. A less aggressive adhesive or a different attachment method would be preferable.Installation - Easy but Permanent: The installation process was easy and required no tools, which I appreciated. However, the downside of such a strong adhesive is that once it's on, it's quite permanent. This aspect is worth considering for those who might want a temporary or adjustable solution.Aesthetically Unobtrusive: On a positive note, the white color of the locks blends well with most toilets, making them less noticeable. This aesthetic consideration is a small but appreciated detail. Conclusion: The Toilet Locks Baby Proof set is effective for its intended purpose but comes with some caveats. It's worth weighing the actual need for such a device against the potential for damage and the permanence of installation. While it offers peace of mind for child safety, it may not be an essential item for all families.
